Hi, you have shutter unit defective. indoor works fine but outside too much over exposure..due to shutter unit has oil contaminated on blade or sand damaged. your local repair shop could charge you around $45 to 65 if they are willing to repair. Good Luck with you!

Pictures are to dark

In order to adjust the ISO; please go into the Menu (Capture+ tab) and set the ISO for 64, 100 or 200 in order to reduce the darkness. However this will lead to slower shutter speeds in low light.

Also try different SCN and ISO to see if problem still persists.
If the problem is intermitted, try to find a pattern in to when the faulty pictures appear.

I have a Z612 which will seems to overexpose outdoor sunlight pictures. Video is ok, indoor flach pics ok. I think the problem was caused checked luggage being slammed around. Any ideas?

Many cameras have an exposure adjustment of increasing/decreasing amount of exposure (usually marked as -/+) Yours is probable set with to much overexposure. This is a setting you can change.
