Question about Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX Ride on Toy

1 Answer

We've just built my sons gator and plugged the charger into a socket which was attatched to the battery and it blew all the fuses in the house. The charger plug now has scorch marks on and won't work. What can I do? is there a fuse in the sealed plug or do I need a new one?

Probably going to need a new one, you can plug the charger in with out it being hooked up to the battery and test it with a multimeter to make sure that its putting out 12 volts

SOURCE: old john deere gator and battery new charger still will not move

Could be several things.  Your battery could be bad. After not being charged for a while, they do go bad- often. You may want to try a new battery along with your new charger.  You could also have a switch /connection problem. If you get a new battery and it still doesnt work, you may want to check the switches and wiring. It is not uncommon for the switch to go bad especially if it had been stored outside.

SOURCE: john deer push pull tractor won,t work.

Hi,
If you have a clicking problem, I would check the wiring on the foot pedal. something is not connected right, which is making the fuse click.
You can contact J&L at this link or call there toll free number. http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego-switches-and-shifters.html.
They have switches and other parts for these peg perego gators, but I would talk to them to make sure.

Never put in a bigger fuse than what it calls for. You must have a bad socket that is shorting out or the item you are plugging in is shorting it out.

check the battery with a multimeter and make sure you are getting at least 12 volts, if its not showing any voltage one of the wires from under the plastic housing has become disconnected, if it is showing voltage but not 12 volts recharge it then check it again after about 12 hours and make sure it is showing 12 volts, if it isn't check your charger with a multimeter and make sure that its putting out at least 13.8 volts, if it is then you have a bad battery
