I am trying to get my DWL-G800AP repeater configured with my DI-624 router. I have the MAC address from the router but I can't get into the repeater to configure. The default IP 192.168.0.30 is not working and simply sends me to a google search page. Help

When i connect my router to my modem i get limited connection could my router be gone out i have to connect direct to lap to get internet service

If Windows is saying "limited conectivity" on the network Icon in your takbar then it seems, the DHCP server function on your router is disabled. If that is the case, then I would perform a factory reset on your router then reconfigure it. If that is not the case, some ISPs require that your PCs mac address match your routers mac address. There should be an option in your routers configuration page to "Clone Your Mac address" or something similar depending on what model of router you have. If all else fails, fully reboot your modem, then your router, then your PC, in that order.

Not reading wireless connection

The wireless router needs its wireless settings configured and also the wireless card in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured with the router’s wireless settings so the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with the wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

I have Parker Vision USB1500Wireless PC LAN adaper. It just keeps searching for the network, but i know the network is working because i have a belkin PC Card adapter and it connects.

In the router that you are trying to connect to do you know if it has an Allowed Mac Address section.

Depending on how the router is configured you may need to set the mac address of your wireless adapter to be allower on your network.

To find out the mac if its not on the adapter.

Go to Run - CMD. Type Ipconfig /all

The mac address is called the physical address and should be 12 characters with - inbetween.

Connect directly to the AP with a cat5 cable,
you need to set a static IP in your laptop.
Start > control panel >netwrok connections> right click on your LAN icon > properties
In the main box, highlight "Internet Protocol/TCP/IP ", then click on properties.
Check the button "use the following IP address"
Put these settings in:
IP = 192.168.0.100
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.50
Click ok.
Then go to your browser and type in 192.168.0.50. This should get you into the setup page.
There you have to inputer the routers wirteless MAC address in the box labeled "repeater mode"
You may need to update the AP's firmware, here is how to do it:

copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

>connect to the router using an Ethernet cable (looks like a phone cord but fatter, router configuration is not recommended via wireless connection)

>click start -> run then type in the box that pops up "cmd" without the quotes and hit OK

>black box (command prompt) on screen, type "ipconfig" again without the quotes.

>look for the Default Gateway address (that's the router) and type that exact address in Internet Explorer.

I suspect your cable modem is looking for the MAC address of your compaq's NIC. if you run IPCONFIG /ALL on the Compaq (Start run, cmd <enter> then IPCONFIG /ALL <enter> , you can get the 12 digit MAC address.

In the router setup, there should be an option to CLONE MAC address, put in the MAC address of the COMPAQ. Then release and renew the IP address in the Router from the cable modem. The router should then get a valid IP address from the cableand you should be able to connect both systems to the router and surf.

D-link di-524up configuring router with bigpond

Hello cook_ka

You can find information about and downloads for your "DI-524UP 54 Mbps Wireless Broadband Router Plus Print Server" HERE on D-Link's Australia & New Zealand regional web site.

You can find its product manual HERE. Please, download this manual. (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF file reader in order to open the file.)

In order to access the router and get it configured initially, connect a computer to any one of the router LAN ports (NOT the WAN port) using an Ethernet patch cable.

The instructions for configuring your router begin on page 8 of the product manual.

This router has a configuration wizard as well. Instructions for using the configuration wizard begin on page 10 of the manual.

NOTE-1: The default IP address of your router is 192.168.0.1

NOTE-2: Don't try to access the router wirelessly until you have the router configured and your connection to the Internet working (using a "wired" connection from your computer to the router).

NOTE-3: I assume that, since your ISP is BigPond, that your Internet access connection is ADSL. In that case, you are going to need your ADSL login credentials (primary account user name and password) in order to configure the WAN side of your router settings.

Please, let us know if this information was helpful to you or, of course, if you have any further questions.
