When i started up my rawn mower it was smoking very heavy checked the oil and found gas mixed with the oil what causes this

you will need to rebuild the carburetor. clean it really good with carburetor cleaner. install a new kit. be sure to replace the needle and seat. drain and change oil. it will still smoke for a little bit to burn off the oil that is in the muffler. it will clear up. as for the numbers clean the outside of the carburetor and write down all the numbers you find. your local parts store will be able to get it from there.

I have a 38 inch ride on 1997 model 71193 just changed oil oil is at proper level it pushes heavy smoke at high rpm it is pushing oil into bottom of air cleaner through port , is this the pcv? Do I need...

Was it smoking before you changed oil? Did it start as soon as you changed the oil or did it start smoking a few days later?

Check the oil level again... Ethanol gas kills these Needle valves in the carburetor allowing gas to run through the carb, into the cylinders and down to the Crankcase.

18.5 briggs stratton runs a few seconds then starts smokeing then stops smokeing then starts smokeing again

check the oil level see if its overfilled and smalls like gas if so the needle valve in the carb is not seating replace the needle and seat add a **** off to the fuel line and change the oil gas leaks passed the needle valve overfills the carb and drains into the cylinder and crank case run the carb out of gas by shutting off the fuel line and run it til it stalls out every time your done using it

Toro recycler model number SR-21 S lawn mower wont start changed plug, filter, new gas. Mower ran for two lawn cuttings but seemed to overheat and choke out frequintly in high grass now it wont start at...

check your oil is it up to full, then I would check to see if you have compresson, pull your plug and roll over and feel with finger ,but don't touch spark plug wire or you will light up! next I would check for spark, then for fuel, make sure the carb is getting fuel,,,check your hoses and fuel cap and clean your carb and needle/seat and make sure gas will run through the fuel line. Also you could have sheared a flywheel key

the choke out you are talking about could of been a lean condition and smoked the eng rings
Good Luck compresson test should tell all 2StrokeJim

LT 1000 flooding gas out muffler and stalls, then pours in carb.

Check your oil. Does it smell like gas? If so, don't run it even if you could. You will fry your engine. The float needle and seat in the carb are leaking. In other words, the float needle is not shutting off the gas when the bowl is full. You need to have them replaced.
