With the computer turned off unseat and reseat the fan connectors back to the motherboard. If the fans are still not turning on then try some other new fans. If new ones won't turn on then you know for sure at that point the motherboard is going bad because its not putting out a high enough voltage to turn the fans on.

Why the computer hardware is heated quickly

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

1998 VW Beetle Notice cooling fans are not coming on. Air still works but car quickly them over heats. Also over heats when stuck in traffic. I have been turning on the heater when stuck in traffic and the...

Did you check the coolant level? if your low on coolant the sensor for the fans won't work, also could be a bad fan motor or just a fuse, if you continue to over heat the car you can do a lot of damage to the engine, blown head gasket, and the VW's are expensive to repair, take it to a good shop and have them check it out.

1999 3series e46 model. when starting in the mornings the secondary pump starts to (whine) for about 30 secs. once it stops all ok. have been told this uses more fuel. any suggestions as how to remedy this...

If it is so loud that you notice it inside the car, it is about to fail.
Usually when these fail prematurely, it is because the check valve has failed, so the fan slowly spins backwards with hot wet exhaust gas blowing through it all the time you are driving. This destroys the fan bearing, resulting in the noise you hear and the subsequent fan failure. The fan costs $420 at the dealer or $240 on line. The check valve is $125 at the dealer or $105 on line.
There is a place on eBay that rebuilds secondary pumps for Volvos and BMWs for about half the cost of a new air pump. They did one for one of my 328s last year. It works fine, but I have not driven that car very much since I put it in.
Replacing the fan is an easy do-it-yourself job, but the soft rubber mounts that hold the fan are fragile, so don't abuse them or you will be making a second trip to the parts store.
You might want to disconnect the line from the check valve to the fan and start the car to see if the check valve is leaking before ordering a new one. Also, if there is water in the fan when you take it off the car, the check valve has failed.
If you just eliminate that fan, the car will run the same. It will just make a little more carbon monoxide when you first start it, it will take a bit longer for the computer to go into closed loop operating mode, and the computer will set a code for failed secondary air fan.
The gas consumption associated with this fan is negligible. It takes only a few drops of fuel to quickly heat and light off the catalyst. You will never notice the difference in mileage.

My laptop turns on, but shuts off immideately. I don't hear the fan running. A couple days ago I used compressed air to clean the fan area (not opening up, but throught the vents) what is the problem?

There's a good chance that your fan is toast, and you may need to replace it.

If the computer turns on and quickly shuts off, with the fan not running, leads me to believe that the shutdowns are caused by the system overheating.

Hope this helps.

Since recently i notice am hearing the sound of the fan on the laptop spinning louder than usual. the computer these days is very hot all over. the heat that comes off it is extremely hot.

i think ur system fan cable need resolder. for this it cann't run freely or the other things for many dust in ur fan it can run freely. so check these if everything are ok then plz change ur system fan. u computer shut down bcoz when ur processor doesn't get sufficiant air then it become so hot and ur pc will off. its so dangerious.

Fridge Heats but dosen't cool

This fridge uses a Peltier effect cooler sometimes referred to as a TEC or "Thermo Electric Cooler".
In order to cool it must be able to dissipate heat and it sounds like the fan in the back that it uses to do this has failed.
Replace the fan with an 80mm by 80mm 12v computer cooling fan and make sure the fan blows the correct direction.
The fan will have small arrows stamped into it on one of the 4 sides indicating the direction of rotation as well as the direction of air flow.
NOTE: You can use a 3 wire fan (yellow, black, red) if that is all you can locate, just don't connect the yellow tach wire (the wire that reports fan speed to the motherboard of a computer).

Good luck and have fun.
