Question about HP Deskjet F4140 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP Deskjet 4140. Scans but won't file finished scans. HP has a solution specifically to resolve this problem, but when I download the fix specifically for the 4140 and execute it, it gives and error message saying the download doesn't support any installed printer. The installed printer is exactly what the download is specific to.

    Well, I don't have another computer to try the system out, but after reloading the program and cleaning all the ports, I agree that it is probably a problem with the printer itself. I'll either take it to someone to see if they can fix it, or find another solution.

Well, it could the the printer itself, but before you decide anything, you need to make sure about few things.
1. Try installing it on another computer and verify how it works. If the problem persists, then it's possible that the scanning unit of your printer is defective, you'll need a local tech to inspect it. If this works, go to next step, but if not, go to step 3.

2. Uninstall the driver/software and reinstall it after your computer is restarted. Make sure your printer is turned OFF while you uninstall the driver/software.

3. Clean the printer components, including the scanning unit and other components like carriage, inner compartments, usb port, etc..

4. Try with a new usb cable or another working usb cable.

Among the four methods given above, one of them will be definitely helpful to you to find out the exact cause of the problem.

    Good luck. But I would still recommend you to try it on another computer, if possible at your friends computer/s (just to make sure).

My printer scans, copy but won't print from computer?


Hi,
Did you set this printer as the default printer? To do this go to Start - Printer and Faxes, right click on HP printer, select Set As Default Printer. If you are not see your HP Deskject F340 there, that mean your printer driver is not installed. Please install your printer driver.
If you already set it as the default and it is still not printing. Restart your computer to try solve problem.
You said that printer scans so the connection between your computer and printer is fine. Problem is your computer doesn't take the printer as it's printer device yet.

My HP deskjet 2050 all-in-one printer only shoots out blank paper and won't print. It used to say there was no paper in it, which there was. It scans & prints just fine - just won't print...


Any error messages on the printer digital screen or the desktop? I take it the "The ink is fine" means that there is ink in the cartridges!

Try a test print via the Control Panel> Printers and Faxes> properties > Print test page.

i hope there isn't any problem with your machine . i think the Drivers are not communicating with the scanner.
download the complete drivers as you haven't mentioned the Operating system your using any how click here for the driver package and software as well .i recommend
HP Multi-function Basic Driver.

1.then choose the O/S (operating system )
2.download the file .
3.when download is complete . Run the file and go through Recommended settings if you understand the setting then Go for Advance settings . finish the setup and then Restart your system and Printer manually

My hp deskjet f380 is not scanning.


To scan, you need the HP Photosmart software installed (you can download it from HP at the link below). Start HP Photosmart, then put your original in the scanner and press the "Scan" button. You can scan multiple sheets, when you're done, click "done" and the files will be saved as JPEGs in the My Scans folder in My Documents.

You need to install OCR by Iris software. This will allow you to scan and convert it to rich text file (.rtf) /editable text. Some HP AIO like HP c309a have free basic OCR software. you can download c309a full feature driver and software and just get the OCR software.

depends on what operating system you have - but have a look at "my Scans" or Scans or use windows file manager and advanced search for all files created on the date you did the scan

HP F2280 won?t scan multiple pages into a PDF file


I fixed this by Installing the full suite of programmes on the installation CD, specifically Installing the "OCR Isis" programme (or Iris, not sure).

I had the scan-to-pdf option, but then when I reinstalled my system it was no longer available. I tried updating Adobe Acrobat reader to v9.0 and I don't think this fixed it. But at the same time I installed the "extra" programmes of the HP Installation CD, and then the scan-to-PDF feature was back.

So basically, install the COMPLETE set of programmes on the HP installation CD seemed to fix this.

I have a HP Deskjet F2180 printer, but I suspect that the HP software is generic across alot of its product range.

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Official Canon Drivers and Software

Canon USA:DRIVER & DOWNLOADS

After downloading is finished, unplug the printer USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Some Canon printers are not Vista compatible and cannot work on Vista.

The pictures you scan will be available under My scans folder, to navigate to My scan folder read below.
My Documents - >My scans.

If you are scanning using the HP solution center software, the picture will be saved inside the HP Photosmart essential.
