Have you checked to make sure the wireless device is enabled in the BIOS? The device is sometimes becomes disabled in the BIOS after system updates.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Is your version of Windows 7 32 or 64bit? Open the Network and Sharing Center, select Change Adapter settings, is the wireless adapter listed? Is the Wireless Adapter in the Device Manager under Network Adapters? Have you done ALL your Windows and HP updates? Usually Windows 7 will apply the generic driver to the devices. Do you see any UNKNOWN DEVICES in Device Manager? You can find drivers here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3340198 Some times you can use Vista drivers by changing compatibility. Post your findings and which version, 32 or 64 bit.

On the HP ProBook 4720s laptop, there's a button with a wifi symbol on it and a small led on the up-right corner of the key. When I got the laptop it was light blue. Seems now it's always orange....

There appears to be a problem with the network settings. Is the passcode correct?

-Click Start and select Control Panel
-Click Network and Internet
-Open Network and Sharing Center
- Click Manage Wireless Networks
-Remove your wireless Network
-Refresh the wireless networks and try connecting again

You need to install the Broadcom Wireless driver: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=4145330&prodNameId=4145205&swEnvOID=4059&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-86003-1

The blue light you mention in your first post is an indicator only for the built in wireless network card.

Anyway, tell me if this worked...

I was trying to make my wireless connection work quicker using my hotel connection but now it's not even connecting to it. How I can reset those options back to their default values. I'm using a Dell...

Click on start, go to control panel, double click on network and sharing center, on left click on manage wireless networks, right click on wireless network connection and click on properties. At the top click on wireless tab, check the box which says “use windows utility to connect wirelessly” then click ok. Right click on wireless network connection and click on view available wireless networks. Select your network name and click connect. If asked, enter the wireless password and you will be connected.
Enjoy!

You dont need any driver since your PC is configured as x64 bit processor so all you got to do is get hold of the XP OS which is meant for x64 compatible PC's. The one normally used is 32 bit named as x86. I hope u wont face any difficulty in getting hold of x64 based OS(XP)......sodeep
