My sony playstation 3 consul is not reading any of my games

Do CD's and DVD's work? If so then your Blu-ray lasor has a fault. I suggest you phone the Sony helpline, if your playstation is still in warranty then you'll trade your faulty console for a new one. I wouldn't imagine you do but if you have the 1st gen of the PS3 I would trade/buy a slimline. The old 40GB / 60GB units will not be fixed and shipped back to you!

I installed a replacement slim ps2 lens but now my console won't read my discs?

Remove the blob of solder so the area in the red circle looks like this, or the laser will not engage.

Sony machines have notoriously bad lasers. I find that with the slim if you have a small amount of nail polish remover on a cotton bud and dab the laser (whilst off and without touching the laser) that does the trick

Reading disc

Hi DOMexcla,
this is a pretty easy fix.
You probally have the PS2 in a dusty area.
This will cause the dust to fall on the lens, thus, not being able to read it.
Try cleaning the lens, or buying a cleaning disk.
