Hi stitchwellcl,

You mentioned that when you turn ON your Simrad it turns itself ON and OFF, I believe what is happening is the screen is flashing ON and OFF is that what you mean.

you check this link for further details about your Simnard and what it is experiencing.

befire this turning ON nd OFF happend were you using the machine or did just happen when you turned it ON?

Maybe you can try power draining the system for this issue.

if your Simnard has a battery and can be remove take it OFF then press and hold down the power button for atleast 15-20 seconds. this should drain the power on the system, once drained you can put the battery back in then turn the system ON again check if the issue will go away and make things work for you and the Simrad.

I hope this helps.

My simrad ca44 keeps turning itself on and off

This is almost always a power supply issue. Check and clean your positive and negative connections. Although the link below is for car batteries, the principles are the same.
If that gives you no joy, check the plug and socket of your unit. It doesn't take much corrosion to render an electronic device inoperable.

Hope this helps.

Change MMSI number ? simrad rd 68

Hi!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but according to the Owners Manual for this unit:
http://www.busse-yachtshop.de/pdf/simrad-rd68.pdf (Page 6),
to erase a previously entered MMSI, the radio must be sent to a Simrad authorized dealer. I suppose this feature was put into effect to cut down on stolen Simrad products.

Hope this is helpful, sorry I couldn't do more for you.

Nx-6000 hardware prob

Yesterday, after my all attempts have failed, I decided to disassemble it. I needed to just remove the metal strip on the plastic cover and then slightly space the cover to help the camera head release itself. Now it is OK and working properly without any serious damage but I am afraid to push the head again in it. I have a little suggestion for you. I believe the if you provide an assistance without any charge for the first time, it'll give an idea about how good your services are and be more convincing to use your technical assistance by paying for it. Thank you.
