Run it as an administrator.
Right Click > Run as administrator when you try to install it.
make sure your local user profile is an Administrator. You can check that at Control Panel > Users and Profiles > user type

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

Below are the easiest solution you could try.
1. Uninstall and re-install windows live
or
2. Update your computer with latest microsoft.net framework and windows updates
or
3. The cumbersome way below

  • clickStart
  • click All Programs, then Accessories
  • right click on the Command Promptoption,
  • on the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as Administratoroption.
  • If you haven't disabled User Account Control (and you shouldn't!) you will be asked for authorization. Click the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.
  • In the Command Prompt window, type:sfc /scannow,
  • press Enter. You'll see "the system scan will begin".
  • This procedure do take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt/missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista DVD when needed.

How can i put the icon in my computer

Hi,

If you do not have the icon for Windows Live Messenger in the start menu and have never used before, then it will probably not be installed.

Go to http://explore.live.com/windows-live-messenger

Select you language from the drop down list and then hit download. Follow the instructions to install.

Note that you must be logged in as an administrator to install it.

Hope that helps

I cannot sign into windows live messenger i even made up a new ID and it still will not let me sign in. I have reloaded windows live a couple times nothing works yet i can sign in with one of my firends ID

If it is your first time using Windows Live Messenger it will ask you to confirm your email address by going to your inbox where a confirmation email should be waiting for you from the Windows Live team. Follow the directions in the email and you should be able to sign in to Messenger after the confirmation is complete.

If you've been using Messenger with your current email address and it will not let you sign in, you may want to make a new email address or possibly try from a different computer. I hope this helps.

It seems that a lot of people are having this problem, I'm sure that it's something wrong with the phone itself, but you can always update the phone's software from it's website as the update feature on the software does not seem to work, and update your IM software whether or not you are using MSN or AOL messenger. :)

Windows live messenger sign in error code 81000306

That means Windows Live Messenger is unable to contact the authentication server.

Open up Live Messenger and go to Tools and go to Options. Under Connection Settings, choose Advanced Settings. Make sure there are nothing in the proxy fields. Make sure the SOCKS area has nothing in it and click okay until you get back to the Messenger window and try to sign in.

If that doesn't work and you are running Windows Vista, click start, type: cmd, right-click cmd.exe when it appears under Applications, click Run As Administrator, type the following: "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled", rress enter, restart your computer”

Hope this helps!

Windows live installation error.

Try right clicking the installation executable and choose Run As Administrator. By default, even an administrator account in Vista doesn't run with administrator privledges unless you elevate the action using user account controls.
