Magic Chef wine cooler clicking

Magic Chef 8 bottle wine cooler model MCWC8DSCT. when turned on light flashes and fan starts to move but doesn't.

I see 2 LED lights (Red and green) Red is on. The fan runs for a split second and it trips off. Clicking sound during all of this.

    Thanks for replying! Yes, it's an electromagnet, but nothing was re-wired, and nothing's obstructing it. One thing is that my wife sprayed some WD40 in the fan housing (the magnet) because it was "sticking." Could that have done something to it?

If I was abetting man - I would suspect that the fan is polarised, and has been wired incorrectly..

Check that there is nothing obvious in the way of the fan blades..

If it is 8 months old it probably is under warranty call magic chef they will usually send someone out. Have your purchase stub ready or they can go by the manufacture date but that might be over a year.

I had the same problem. I fixed the problem by replacing the main cooling fan that is mounted over the electrothermal cooling unit.. Fan can be ordered from RepairClinic.com.

I have the same problem as stated with the light flashing and fan tries to rotate. I found by disconnecting the power wires to the cooling unit, the fan rotates. light works and no clicking sound.
I suspect the cooling assembly is defective causing the unit to not work properly.
Does any one have a part number for this part and where I might purchase the cooling unit. RepairClinic.com does not have thhe cooling unit.
