Question about Bosch HBN 7022GB / 7062GB Electric Double Oven

Open Question

I have a bosch HBN7050GB/1 double oven. It is about 8 years old and last year blew its main oven heating element. I replaced the element with a new version and this lasted me about 3 months before it blew in a similar location to the original. I managed to get the element replaced but the replacement has also blown in a similar location to both previous elements. My door appears to be sealed and the fan still runs. The oven is pretty clean and all element cover vents are clear. Please can you advise what I can check or do, or if it is possible I have been unlucky enough to recieve 2 dud elements? Please offer me advice on how best to deal with this oven. Thanks

SOURCE: fan oven not heating, bosch hbn 202t

the fan oven element is separate from the grill element. the problem is that the circular element round the fan is blown. remove the back panel of the oven and you will see the element. replacement is easy. on most bosch, the element is removable from inside the oven but for some you have to remove the oven and take off the back casing

SOURCE: Bosch fan oven not working

This does not mean your element is broken. Although it could be. Call Bosch and ask them if the unit has a pressure switch (you will need the model number). Pressure switches are more common on Gas ovens, but it might have one. If the pressure switch is not being activated by the fan, that could be the problem. It could be a contactor, it could be your power switch. It could be a break in the wiring. Or it could be your thermostat, or it could be the element. Service companies usually charge you for the cost of traveling to your place and around here hourly rates from $65-125 per hour for labor. It could take up to two hours to find out what the cause (or causes of the problem are) depending on how thorough they are. There could be a return trip charge as well if they need to order parts. And the cost of parts as well. you could be looking at anywhere from $300 to $1200 dollars depending on how many components might be damaged and the cost of the parts. If you want to save some money in the future, always check your fan blade to make sure it is free of debris (especially tin foil) and make sure the motor on the back of the oven has some clearance from the wall so it can cool itself.

Heating elementglowing bright red funny smell

I
make sure the fan is working o/k, because if it is not, then the element will get bright red hot.
If the fan is working o/k, then the element will still get red hot, but not bright red.
If the fan is not working, then it needs replacing.

Bottom oven doesn't heat after running self-clean cycle

Usually, when an oven won't heat, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.
