You can get the know right from the dealer at this link http://us.marantz.com/us/Support/Pages/ServiceCenter.aspx as far as the one speaker working, switch the speakers to make sure its the unit and not the speaker box, if that doesn't help you probably have a blown output in the unit itself,, since its a Marantz Its worth the cost of having it repaired,, as with all High end receivers or amps, Be sure the unit is in the off position before you attach or disconnect any speakers ,, if they short out,, our gonna blow the output

Marantz problems

The speakers are 8ohms. Always try using speakers 6 or 4ohms. For B&W 683 on PM 6004 is too low. You should go for PM 7000 or 8000 series to catchup with 683. Also when you increase the volume please decrease the bass as well.
You need 8ohm 55w to 90w or 4ohm 80w to 110w speakers.

Check the fuses if it has some. It could be a blown output transistor.

MARANTZ MA 700 NOT SURE HOW TO MAKE CONNECTIONS. NO MANUEL. LIGHTS UP

you'll want to use the rca sub out from your pioneer, to almost any input (aux, tape, cd) of the marantz, then speaker cable from marantz to sub. once you get them hooked up, adjust volume, bass, on the marantz to blend well with main speakers at a nominal lvl,

I have a marantz sr4320 receiver. The volume control knob is not working---I can't get any sound no matter the volume number. "d8" is now showing, too, following the number. I have followed...

Do you mean "db"?

NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING. The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Turn the volume down.

While you're squinting at the front panel, find the manual and evaluate every indicator on the face to make sure you understand what they mean and how they might affect operations. Look for Speakers NOT enabled, Muting ON, a Tape or other input inadvertantly selected. If you fail to find the errant setting, treat it like a new install and set it up all over again according to the manual.

Amp pops randomly and gets worse with my remote bass knob hooked up any ideas ?

When you say that the amp "pops" are you referring to the sound that is coming out of the speakers?
This is most likely the speakers "bottoming out", i.e. moving as much as they can, and then slapping against the back of the speaker frame. Adding the remote bass knob (presumably increasing the signal to the amplifier) would make the problem a bit worse, which explains why the popping increases after you add the bass knob.

You can try decreasing the gain on your amplifier and running the system at a moderate volume. If there's no popping occurring, you can be reasonably sure that the subs/speakers are just being over-driven.

What volume level should I set the sub at please. I have a Marantz 7005 av amp and when using Audyssey to set up, the slam from the sub is miniscule. I normally set it a 50% volume when setting up,can...

It might be easier to "skip" the subwoofer meausrement step in Audessy and tune it by ear instead. Refer to page 52 in the manual, step 6/7.

I use familiar music and test tones when I tune my sub to the mains. Generally, I set the preamp trim to -10db, the crossover as appropriate (80 or below), and then bring up the level knob on the sub to taste. Confirm phase alignment, if possible, by having someone flip the phase (if available) so the response is strongest at the main listening position.

Keep it a little "lean" at first, and over the next several hours or days, bring the preamp level up one db at a time. It takes several days of tweaking to arrive at a level that I find appropriate. Once there, I try to ignore programs with bloated bass - remember, not all recordings are created equal.

Should you fond yourself bringing the preamp level to 0 or above, kick the sub amp level knob up a couple of clicks, and back off the preamp level. It's safer to have the amp do the work, than driving too hot of a signal at the preamp level and clipping it.

Marantz 2220B with Sound Problem at Half volume

The most likely cause of this is some DC current working its way through the system. WIthout taking some measurements, it will be difficult to confirm this though. This should not be an expensive repair. Figure on $20 or so for parts (capacitors mostly).

Marantz pm 7200 integ.amplifier

Dear Sushant,    I do not think your use of an equalizer has caused any problems.  I will explain the proper use of the source/direct button.  This button's function is to monitor the output of a recorder connected to the record outputs of your amp.  When this button is pressed on the sound going to the speakers comes direct from the "source" (cd, radio tuner, phonograph etc.) when in the off position you can monitor the recording of whatever source is being recorded via the tape deck.  This switch must be off to record through the amps record outputs.    To test this, put a blank tape in the tape deck, choose the source as phono and place the dec in record/pause.  With the source direct button pressed on you should hear a change in volume when moving the amp's volume knob only.  When source direct is off you will be able to hear the output of the tape deck, so adjusting the tape deck's record level will also affect the volume coming out of the speakers.  more record level in/ more level out.!    Below is copied from page 9 of your user operation manual for Marantz's explanation of the source/direct button.  image.tiff

Logitech S500 Volume Knob Broken

The simplest thing to try is some compressed air directed to the knob. This would clear out any dust or dirt that may be obstructing the knob. I am not sure what you mean by power cut so I am shooting in the dark here. If you mean a power surge that caused the volume to quit working then I would suggest an external volume control such as http://www.amazon.com/Koss-155954-VC20-Volume-Control/dp/B00001P4XH/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-2257004-6895258?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1194009359&sr=8-2
