Follow these insrtuctions and you will not need a product key at all! TRUST ME, I just did this and it works. AMAZING!

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Note You may also find another subkey that resembles the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{91120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
If you find additional subkeys that reference Microsoft 12.0 registration, open each subkey, and then identify the product by the ProductName entry.
For example: ProductName=Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
When you find the subkey for the product from which you want to remove the existing product license key, delete the following entries:
DigitalProductID
ProductID
once you have done this procedure you must when it asks to put in your new product key click the x button on the top this will enable you to use microsoft office without the product key. cool but dont get any office updates! you can forever use this but dont enter your product key because it will make your register
and you will have to start again.

this code does work, but to activate it, you must do it by phone. when you click on the internet activation it tells you that the product key has been used too many times. you choose your region, call the number, tell the machine the numbers provided then the machine will ask how many computers you have installed this software in. then she gives you numbers to type in and voila! :)

Even worse, now that I have attempted this product key, MS does not allow me to enter a new one after uninstalling and reinstalling the software. It just assumes I am using the same key and goes to the next step which is the invalid confirmation code.

When it asks if you want to register online or by phone choose by phone as if you try to do it online it says it has been activated too many times.
Do it by phone, takes five minutes and you dont have to speak to a real person! I'm so happy it worked! Hopefully you guys have some luck with this.

I bought a Desktop and Laptop from Dell with a single copy of Office 2007 which wouldn't activate on the 2nd PC as Dell supply a single use licence if you order the software with the PC. They wouldn't extend the licence, nor would MS. I reinstalled with Product Code DDY79-433JV-2RXGX-MQFQP-PFDH8 as per Solutions 5, 6 & 8 above, activated by phone and it worked. Install Office 2007 Home Edition using the Office 2007 Final serial, i.e. DDY79-433JV-2RXGX-MQFQP-PFDH8

After installing Office 2007; do the following steps:-
Start Menu->Run->type 'regedit' and press enter, The Registry Editor window will open up.

In that window in the left panel follow these steps:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->mICROSOFT->oFFICE->12.0->REGISTRATION-> {91120000-002F-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}

After following the above steps, on the right panel u can see the registry entries. From the list find out entries named 'Product ID' or 'Value ID' and 'Digital Product ID' or 'Digital Value ID' and delete those two.

Then close the Registry Editor Window.

Now go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup Controller\Proof.en

In that location you will see a xml file named 'Proof'. Right click on that file and go to Open With and select notepad.

In that file make it sure that the last lines look like this:-

<OptionRef Id="AlwaysInstalled"/>
</Feature>
</Package>

If required; change the lines by typing these correct lines and there should not be any other lines under these lines. If there is any other lines; then delete those lines.

Now save & close the file.

" on my case, i cant edit file (Proof.en) which exist on that directory, so i just copying it into desktop and start edit and save it.. after that i copy n replace the file back to its original directory "

I need help!! I have lots of coursework too do, which has to be handed in ASAP, I downloaded microsoft word trial, the trial ran out and now i need it again, but everytime i open microsoft word it asks for a product key, but i dont know where to get one! help :)

  Install microsoft office 2007 any one and look for the serial.
  Install without a serial, after installatio reboot and then go to.
  Start> Computer> C Driver> Programme Files (86)> Common Files> microsoft shared> OFFICE12 and replace the MSO.dll in there and then turn on the Microsoft Office install from any serial above and then Under activation by phone put 000000 000000 000000 000000 000000 000000 000000 to fill all the boxes and proceed. Then you are Activated, Remember to keep this MSO.dll incase of udates and just replace it everytime, works great for me and its the 17-02-2011.

Apparently you have to purchase the product key code. It is just a trial version installed on your laptop. What a scam.
