Mine is doing the same thing, power reset did not change the results. Also, after sitting for several days unused, the time interval it ran before shutting down moved out to a couple minutes on the first try, then all subsequent tries were back to the 15-20 second runs. Air flow is constant via vents in the front of the built in unit.

Mine is 13 months old and started doing the same thing last night. I rarely use the microwave and I'm VERY disappointed in Bosch as it seems this is an on going problem. I spoke with their service management people and got no where as my 1 year warranty ran out last month.

Our HMB0550/01 is also a 13 month old and started doing exactly same thing. Fortunatly we have an extended warranty. We called and the technician came as infomred us that the magnetron is bad. This magnatron allows heater to come on and also controls the timer. Seems like many people has issue with this model. I didnot get anywhere with BOSCH but my extended warranty with LOWS helped. Good luck.

I'm assuming this is a built in oven/microwave combination since you mentioned the oven works fine. On a stand alone microwave, we would reset it by unplugging and waiting at least 10 seconds for the microwave to reset itself.
Was the circuit breaker tripped when you reset it? When you reset the circuit breaker, did you wait long enough. Try turning the breaker off, then waiting a couple of minutes before turning it back on. Then give the microwave a try.

Another thing we run into with a built-in is that sometimes there is not enough air circulation. Check to see that the vents are clear and clean.

Good luck! Reply back if this does not solve the problem.
If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Sorry, but If you don't know what you are doing with a microwave, I would strongly suggest you take it to a Technician who does. Microwave ovens operate on extremely high voltages. Apart from the radiation risk. These things can kill you if you touch the wrong parts during operation. Some components store electricity for a short time after you turn it off. One of the door switches is a safety switch to prevent people from forcing or trying to override the door locks. It will blow a fuse inside the machine immediately if the door locks / switches don't close or open in a set sequence.

Bosch microwave oven, turntable not working, food not heated

Even if the turntable isn't turning, the oven should still heat the food but it will be uneven cooking. I would suggest that the unit is not "microwaving" This is usually the high voltage capacitor, fuse or diode failure. You will need knowledge of how microwave ovens work and specialist tools to test these. If you don't, I would suggest you get a tech who does. There are extremely high voltages in microwave ovens.

My Bosch microwave (built in HMB5050 has stopped heating all of a sudden. Everything else appears to work fine but it does not heat. What is the problem?

I have the same issue, plus mine shuts down after 30 seconds. There are a few other similar issues on here, with solutions including unplugging it for 10 seconds, replacing a fuse, and replacing half the internals. Please post your fix if you find one!

Over the last week the light on the inside of the microwave has dimmed and now it doesn't come on and the turntable doesn't work. Will replacing the light bulb correct the problem? Somehow the microwave...

I think you very possibly have a 2 part problem. Firstly, replace the lamp assembly, then replace the turntable motor. If you have a little electrical knowledge, place a tester on the turntable wires when microwave is on and check for voltage.Remember, run microwave as if you were cooking (Place water in unit when switched on).If there is power, then the motor is faulty.

Oven won't heat and shuts down after approx. 20 seconds

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
