Question about Danby DDR4007EE Dehumidifier

1 Answer

Just received the dehumidifier from my parents with no instructions and it appears to be new as I just unwrapped the cord. I hit the green power button and then the one next to it with the 3 arrows. On the far right side I hit the buttom with the single drop button and not much happens. Hit the multi drops button and it seens like it wants to start. The wheel never goes around by itself unless you push it to get it started? Seems like blue fan wheel is wobbly and rubs at first until it gets spinning fast. Not sure of the up and down buttons and their function either? Thanks, Mark

Here's a link to the Owners Manual for your Model Danby Dehumidifier. You can download and print it for future reference. Take good care of it, as it is a discontinued model, but is still supported by Danby.

Hope this helps you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Frigidaire dehumidifier just died shows no power no lights coming checked and made sure outlet was fine

Hey friend, I appreciate your inquiry!

If your Frigidaire dehumidifier is not powering on it could be an issue within the control panel or power cord. I see you checked the outlet it was plugged into, I would test your appliance in another outlet. If you still receive the same response it sounds like it could be a problem within the panel or power cord. Is your appliance under warranty? If so, I would advise you to reach out to the manufacturer to determine any potential remedy. -Matt

Power cord went bad...i need a new one....where do i get this?

Unfortunately, Windchaser has been out of business for about 6+ months and replacement parts are like looking for a needle in a haystack. However, I suspect that a small appliance repair shop can help you. As they stock or can order interchangeable cords for appliances like yours. If you plan on this being a DIY project, write down the color coding of the wires of your defective cord and where they are connected, before disconnecting it. This will save a lot of head scratching, when you install the new cord.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Where is the thermostat/defrost gauge located on my Santa Fe Advance dehumidifier? The company sent me a new one but no directions on where to find it. Thank you

You will have to remove the plastic "cover" from the top of the unit to access the interior parts on the Advance model. Make sure you disconnect the power cord before beginning the disassembly. You can call the service group at 1-800-533-7533 to speak with a technician if you need help.

Won't power on

Several things could cause the dehumidifier to not turn on. It could be the switch itself, or the power cord, or some internal component. If you have a multimeter, you can take the unit apart and test the switch and the power cord.

Also make sure the outlet is getting power and no circuit breaker has been tripped.

Was given this humidifier but has no operating instructions/manual.

Either Maytag's website or the parent company, Whirlpool will have the manual available for download.

Comfort-aire BHD-651 Dehumidifier broken after power outage

Start with the outlet they are plugged into - any power there?
The only solution I can suggest is to take it apart and check the wiring for any burned or shorted wires.
Also check the control circuit board - most have a small glass tube fuse on them. It is possible it was blown when the house was hit.

2008 Frigidaire 50 pint Dehumidifier from Lowes

You can test it out by disconnecting the power cord, wait five minutes and plug it back in. If it retains the original settings you are good to go. If you are wondering before purchasing a new unit ask before you buy.

Drain hose attachment

Checkout this website...they have an owners manual you can download: A little hard to find, but it's there. In short, there is a small hole in the back of the dehumidifier between the cord handles. There will be a cap held in place over the hole by three small connectors. With some pliers, remove the hole cover. Take your hose connector and place it in the hole until it won't go any further (you can feel it hit the front of the water bucket). The instructions will show pressing the tab of your hose connector into the bottom of the hole to hold it in place. Don't know about yours, but mine is too long to do that. Connect a short length of garden hose to the threaded end of the connector and you've got it. Instructions say hose has to be flat leading straight from the dehumidifier to a drain, so don't place the draining end of the hose up in a sink or anything, use a floor drain. Hope this helps!

Check your tank. Remove it and look to be sure that there isn't any shipping foam or foreign objects in the area which may be keeping the safety switch open. If the area is clear check the switch to make sure that it is not stuck and it moves freely. If that is OK replace the tank and make sure that it is installed completely and correctly. Try it again. If it still does not work I would take it back to the store and have them check it out under the warranty. Good luck.
