SOURCE: Magic Chief compact fridge motor gets hot but does not cool

Look In the rear bottom where the wires plug into the compressor. There will be a plastic cover plate over the connecting wires. Remove it. Unplug the white wire. note the white wire was plugged into a small black box (3/4"x3/4") pull the black box out. It is connected by 2 prongs. If you open this up you will find a small metal disk that looks like a watch battery. pop it out and clean the contacts. put it all back together and it should work fine. I believe it is the thermostat and many times gets bad contacts and can even crack over time. The compressor will "click" on but the bad thermostat tells it "no"

Your defrost system is bad. Replace the defrost thermostat and defrost heater in the freezer.

SOURCE: MY magic chef CTB1922 IS NOT COOLING

Sounds like your compressor overload tripping. Compressor may be stuck from sitting. Start relay may be stuck from sitting. Try a new start relay after making sure all your wires and connections are good. Sometimes a wrap with a deadblow hammer on the side of the compressor can get it going. Don't pound on it just a light wrap. My guess is the relay or overload first. Unplug before fooling with any wiring!

SOURCE: Mini Fridge not working MCBR445

Compressor is in a locked up/ no start condition. the overload cools enough to reset and tries to start it again and kicks out on amp draw, then the whole cycle starts over again.

SOURCE: stopped cooling

Best to unplug the refrigerator now and let compressor cool. The internal overload will be damaged if power remains on and trying to start. We need to test the compressor and start components before you buy anything, Let me know Sea Breeze

Compressor starts and then shuts off

I'm assuming it does not get cold.....did you turn the freezer when cleaning it? if so, you are supposed to let it [ the internal compressor oil ] drain right side up for at least 24hrs before turning on the unit.....try unplugging it for a cpl days, then plug it back it....if it still acts up, you may need to change a thermal coupling sensor......or depending on the age of the unit, replace it.

Our PFS22MISBWW fridge and freezer are the same temperature as my kitchen inside. Its around 4 years old. I've unplugged it, cleaned it out, vacuumed out the back bottom area, and waited 20 minutes...

Your nicely detailed and well worded question gives all the clues needed to suspect that the
compressor motor is effectively dead. What's happening is that the motor (correctly) receives input
from the control circuitry of the frig to turn on (to cool the interior of the frig) - it turns on, quickly
overheats (within a minute or two), and then the motor's thermal shutoff kills the overheating
motor (with a "click"). Then the motor cools for awhile, the thermal cutoff eventually resets
and allows current to the motor, which tries to run again, but quickly overheats again, etc.

Refrigerator buzzing for 10 seconds every 4 or 5 minutes

Buzzing is usually a fan, like one in the freezer, or back bottom - for cooling the freon. The compressor over-heat usually will make a single click (off) and a few minutes later a click (on). If the fan in the freezer stops working well, the freezer will frost up and the fridge section will not be cold enough.

Freezer won't freeze

Sounds like you might have a bad relay on the compressor or the compresor is stuck and cycling on the overload... if you listen closly you should hear a low hum or buzz then a click... repeated ever 5-10 minutes tell overload cools and trys to restart again
