Hi

If you can access the bios (pressing F8 key at start up), try to access your BIOS and locate in the setup that says "load defaults" and then enter "yes". restart your PC.

If still the same, the operating system is corrupted and you need to reinstall the operating system.

Or if you have a recovery disk, use it to restore factory setting of your computer.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Regards and thank you for using Fixya !

Boot Problem in my ASUS Eee PC 900 netbook

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

My netbook froze using internet explorer and had to switch off to reboot. Then could not load windows 7 again. rebooted again this time keeps asking to connect reboot device, any suggestions how to c

This problem can be caused by 3 things.
1: Fault Hard Drive.
2: Faulty cables or connection.
3: Faulty motherboard.

As it is a netbook I would recommend taking it to your nearest PC repair shop and asking them to test your HDD and motherboard.

Go to more than one place so that you do not get ripped off.

Hi Brad i have a hp mini 1000 and its asking for insert boot media boot device

Your hard drive is either bad, lost the boot record, or the operating system is corrupt. You will need an external optical drive and a copy of the restore discs from HP to fix the system. First thing I would do is have this unit serviced to make sure that the hard drive is not bad.

My advent netbook starts up saying Insert Boot media in selected Boot Device and press a key. on my netbook there is no disc drive to insert anything

The system is showing signs of issues with the hard drive, so boot to bios and reset defaults and see if the system will boot.
If not, then you will need either a bootable USB drive with you OS image loaded so you can try to attempt repairs or a USB optical drive that you can use to boot to your Operating System.
If you know the keystroke, most newer systems have built in diagnostics (Try the F12 menu) and see if the hard drive has failed.

Coby netbook...NBPC1023 gives me this message upon startup "reboot and select proper Boot device or insert Boot media in selected boot drive and press a key...I don't have any drives that I can...

If it's not detecting the OS on your internal hard drive, I would guess that it needs to be replaced.
Concerning your lack of a CD drive, With netbooks, a USB external DVD drive is a must have. If you don't have one, and don't have the means to get one right now, try asking around with other people who also use netbooks. They will likely own one that you can use.

WHEN I TURN MY NETBOOK ON IT SAYS " REBOOT AND

If you have a CD or DVD in the internal drive, remove it and reboot. If the system does not have a drive then you may be experiencing HD Failure and the system will not identify its main hard drive to boot from.

I have an HP 110 Mini I tried to turn on my netbook but all I get is information telling me to "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" but I can...

either your hard drive has been damaged or it has been disabled by the bios. Your netbook probably has a solid state hard drive. You need to get your information removed from the drive at this point and get the operating system of your choice installed. For further assistance, you can call us 24/7 at 800-595-3564.
