Try renaming the file from an *.MOI extension to *.avi and see if it works.
In order to do this, you have to have enabled the "show extensions to known file types" in Windows Folder Options.

or change it to *.mpg (it should work even better) THen play it with any video player you have installed.

Import video files (mpeg, mp4, etc..) to (mod.moi) canon fs400

Visit www.download.com (part of CNET), and search for 'video convert' You'll see dozens of programs that can do the job. Make sure you select one for your OS (Windows, Mac, etc.), and be aware that there are both 'free' and 'trial' programs there to try. Also, read EVERY screen when installing, being sure to UNcheck any optional stuff you do NOT want (toolbars, new browsers, etc.).

Unable to transfer videos from Canon FS300 to my pc or network drive

MOI is a computer file format used primarily to represent information. MOI files are associated with MOD or TOD files whose content they represent. The Pixela ImageMixer Video Editing Software should allow you to save your videos to your hard drive. But you may need to install the latest version of Quicktime Player (free) to view the the .mov files as an alternative to the ImageMixer program's viewer. Converting video to playable dvd wot moi file

as stupid and simple as it sounds:
rename the file extension to %filename%.MPG and it will play with your normal video player (I use VLC player).
found this solution on some other site, was sceptical, but it really works.

Problems with .MOD and .MOI files

Actually, converting the .mod file to .avi or .mpg is not sufficient. The corresponding .moi file contains date/time stamp info. as well as some resolution/aspect ratio info. There is a free utility at the following link:
http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?acti...ic=280.0;id=153
that does a really good job at converting the .mod/.mov files into .mpg files properly.
