Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Thank you so much. I was messing with my printer for almost 45 minutes using the Epson website and their diagnostic tools before I got the idea to google "epson cx8400 blank pages" And your answer was #1 on google -- after just posting it yesterday. Your answer had me fixed up in two minutes, and now I'm printing like a champ! Thanks so much for saving me further frustration and time wasting. I'm super grateful to you.
Respectfully yours, Silver Persinger
PS. I'm running for US President as a write in candidate. www.votesilver.org

i was having the same problem and just got off of the phone with tech support who fixed the problem for me,
go into system preferences
print and fax
there you should see the printer cx8400.
remove the printer by clicking on the - sign.
then re add the printer, by clicking the +
the computer will search for the drivers and install them.
that should have you printing like a champ.
hope this helps.

Epson gives you a miserable 12 ml of ink. Then it reports empty when there is still 10-15% of the ink left. I saw someone set up a brand new CX8400, print a single 4x6 photo and it said he was out of cyan. I use reusable cartridges from http://www.ccs-digital.com They hold 20 ml, which is 2/3 more ink. The chips automatically reset to full if you take the cartridge out and put it back in, so you get to use every drop. The ink is in a separate container inside the main cartridge. When it's really empty, you pop out the ink tank and pop in a new one. The tanks are under $3 each. I think this is brilliant because it's like refilling only it avoids the risks and mess of refills.

I could only get my CX8400 to work with Leopard once I manually selected the driver located at /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/EPSON Stylus CX8400.gz
I think that may have appeared after installing a driver downloaded off the web, but I didn't track my steps carefully enough to be certain. I used http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=90342&prodoid=63069506&infoType=Downloads&platform=Macintosh
I know this is a bit jumbled, but hopefully it helps.
