Thanks Jim, Actually I fixed it. I guess I was brain dead but the pump pressure switch had turned it off when I first attached the battery. When I realeased the pressure, it started, of course. Sure makes me feel stupid. My pump is the Shurflo 1.8 gpm 60 psi with demand switching. Thanks for your suggestion.

How long was the pump running? You state it suddenly stopped. The manual does not state that there is thermal protection but ...... that does not mean there isn't one. Let the pump cool for a while and see if it restarts. Are you sure that the power supply is supplying sufficient voltage and current? This is the requirements for your sprayer.
Electrical System Requirements
Electrical connection............ 12 VDC
Amp draw from pump
Models #26810, 268120,
268110, 2681210............ 7.5 Amps (max)
Model #268102............... 4.0 Amps (max)

Your sprayer using the 7.5 Amps.

Check your voltage source and be sure that it is 12 volts and maintains 12 volts when the pump is running. If the voltage is low, the pump will try to draw more current which will cause it to heat up more.

Let me know how you make out.

I have almost the exact same sprayer but mounted on it's own tag along trailer.
Yes, if you are not spraying and the pump continues to run, then you will find you have a leak.

My electric GPW 1600 doesn't stop running when I let off the trigger?

Mostly they don't.
In order to ensure there is no delay in building up pressure for the next spray requirement and to lighten and cheapen the design, the motor is kept running to keep maximum pressure in the line and surplus pressure is recirculated through the pump after being ejected through the unloader or regulator valve.

Whirlpool integrated dishwasher model ADG 7460 Have run the engineer test cycle and it stops and drains water after 2 mins; start light blinks 5 times.

F5 or 5 times flashing.
Variable speed motor failure.

Reason:
- Connection between Spray pump (Variable speed motor) and control board interrupted.
- Frequency converteron Spray pump broken or control board defective.

= Check the power voltage on the motor. BUS: 5V DC, Motor: 230V AC

Reaction: Cycle stops, drain pump drains out, failure indication.

OR

F5 or 5 times flashing.
SPM blocked (MPH motor unit)

Failure condition:
- This failure is only indicated during the active test program
- The electronic detects an irregular deviation of the motor current consumption.

Reason:
Spray pump blocked = check pump housing
Short circuit in motor or wiring = check motor values

Reaction: After 5 attempts to reactivate the spray pump motor the cycle stops, drain pump drains out, failure indication.

I replaced impeller and can't replace the housing cover

The lock ring must be placed over the center of the motor before both the electrical and the seal plate and mounting bracket are assembled. When putting the pump back together the ring needs to be on the pump side of the motor support bracket.

These pumps can be a major pain to put together. If there is enough "leash" on the wiring, I undo the suction and pressure side unions (where the pipes attach to the pump) and stand the pump on its nose so gravity helps the motor ass\'y slide into the pump housing. Use lots of magic lube on the o-ring and inside the housing.

The Northstar pumps are hard on motors. In my experience, three to four years is the common time frame for motor failure. Typically a motor should be expected to last 8-10 years.

Sudden loud vibration from the door of my Whirlpool dishwasher. Replacing the part didn't help.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Drain Pump If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain pump might be defective or might have some debris in it. This is a common problem.
Circulation Pump If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the circulation pump sound, it's likely that the circulation pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the circulation pump will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Drain Impeller If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain impeller might be broken, or there might be debris in the pump. Generally, to gain access to the pump the top of the pump housing will have to be removed.

Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher is loud the motor bearings, drain impeller or wash impeller might have worn out. All three of these components are part of the pump and motor assembly. It may be possible to replace one of the impellers, but the motor bearings cannot be repaired. In that case the pump and motor assembly will need to be replaced.

Wash Impeller The wash impeller is a small, plastic blade. The motor spins the impeller forcing water through the spray arms to clean the dishes. If one or more blades has broken off of the impeller the dishwasher is loud. The impeller can also scrape against the pump housing if it is damaged, warped or bent.

Circulation and Drain Pump Motor If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the motor sound, it's likely that the circulation and drain pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the motor will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Water Inlet Valve The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled water valve. When it is new, the water inlet valve is very quiet. Over time, the diaphragm inside the valve deteriorates and deforms. This deformation interacts with the water rushing in and can cause a loud vibration, buzzing, squealing or other noises. If the dishwasher is loud during the filling cycle, replacing the water inlet valve may solve the problem.

I have a Hayward Northstar 1hp pump and one day I heard it humming I read about took the pum apart and cleaned it up put it back together and it started working but two hours later it stopped againg and...

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

It could be the pump is bound up again but it is more likely the motor is failing. It may be a small part such as the capacitor or the starting switch, but could also be more severe such as the winding itself. You will also want to examine the shaft where it passes thru the pump and motor and look for signs of rust from a pump seal leak.

If you are not familiar with testing these parts your best bet would be a local electric motor repair shop to see if the motor can be repaired or if it would need to be replaced. They should also be able to ensure there is no pump damage.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

I have a Northstar SP4020NS and it leaks oil from the back of the motor/electrical cover

The only oil would be the oil from inside a capacitor. You will likely need to replace the start and/or run cap. Pull the capacitors and check them or take them to an electric motor repair shop in your area and they can do it for you. They will also have (should have) the replacement part(s).

Northstar 1.5 hp pump motor is always hot and shuts off for ten minutes aned comes back on. The voltage and amperage is good. What's the problem

It has an internal thermal overload protection device that is turning it off. Once it cools enough it will automatically turn back on as long as whatever switch or timer you have controlling the pump is in the on position. If you are certain it is not due to a voltage or load condition then it would seem the only other problem is mechanical.

In any case try a local electric motor repair shop.
