Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386 Notebook
Turn unit OFF.
Hold down F8 after pressing the power button to turn it ON.
When computer beeps continuously you can let go of the F8 button.
You should be able to get to "Advanced Boot Options".
Highlight Safe Mode by using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Press Enter on Safe Mode.
Once you get to Safe Mode just do the following.
Just click START then go to ALL PROGRAMS and then go to ACCESSORIES then go to SYSTEM TOOLS then left click on SYSTEM RESTORE.
Press "NEXT" once and then choose a date a day before the problem started.
If it loads it successfully and it does not fix the issue you will need to reformat/redo the system to factory settings.
This means all the informaion stored on the computer will be DELETED.
Please be sure that you would do this when your files had been backed up because it will be IMPOSSIBLE to get your files back after wards.
And make sure the computer is PLUGGED IN. You cannot afford to lose power on this process.
Press and hold the number ZERO on the keyboard (preferably the one on top of the letter "P")
Turn the unit ON while holding down ZERO.
When computer beeps continuously you can let go of the ZERO key.
The options you need are already chosen. All you need to do is keep on pressing NEXT until you get to FINISH.
The system will reboot on its own several times.
If you get an error message midway then there is a good chance its either the hard drive or the memory sticks (RAM).
