Question about Simplicity Sewing Machines

I have a 2010 Simplicity Conquest with power steering. When the tractor drifts to one side, you can turn the steering several times before it changes direction. Unless you move the wheel sharply. Dealer says it's ok. Not for me . Help

According to the dealer, this is normal with power steering.

  • dfh298 May 24, 2011

There aren't any parts missing and everything seems to be tight.

  • dfh298 May 25, 2011

    It's not a sewing machine. It's a lawn tractor.

  • dfh298 May 27, 2011

It's been doing this since new. June of last year. But it get worse the longer I mow. Could it be a check
valve or something in the power steering?

Hello
There are a few things that need to be looked at.The auto traction control.Tire pressure. And steering linkage.
I wouldnt say this problem is ok as did the dealer, its ok until you hit a tree or something else.

The tire pressure you can check. But the linkage and auto traction needs a mechanic to service it.

Here is a link to your mowers manual.
http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=fmlvCHS.RFzXFix2

One more thing.Check for grease fittings around the front tires, linkage areas. If there are fittings then give them some grease.Somtimes dry bearings can cause this problem.

I could not find a detail drawing of the power steering.Possible low on fluid.Honestly this problem needs to be addressd by the dealer.

This comment is from a Simplicity dealer I know "there is an upgrade to the steering on Conquest riders, that may overcome this problem, ask your local Simplicity dealer if he can provide this on yours".

Bobbin winder not winding cotton on spool a part has fallen in side machine how do l take casing off Janome 480 quilter thank you

Am unable to help with your machine but you can purchase a stand-alone bobbin winder called Sidewinder for about $30. Just be sure to verify that your machine bobbins will work on it. The one I have will use either a power cord or batteries. Great little machine because it saves wear-n-tear on the machine plus you can wind bobbins without unthreading the machine.

Simplicity pattern 1291 view F. Instructions vague, ready to start sewing it together. Several pieces were cut on fold no indication if I keep them whole, my fleece does not march up with the size.

If the pattern instructs you to place the pattern on the fold, the folded fabric should be kept whole (do NOT cut the fold!).

You can probably contact Simplicity with your questions.

Just guessing here. Put the front & back pieces together with the rights sides facing each other. Stitch the shoulder seams, then stitch the side seams.

I have a Simplicity SE3 machine and I can not fine bobbins for this machine. Where can they be purchased?

The Simplicity SE3 bobbins are used for several other machines. The metal version of the bobbin is available here: http://www.mysewingmachineparts.com/top-quality-metal-sewing-machine-bobbins-125701-001-baby-lock-bernina-brother-riccar-simplicity-white/ . These are 10 for $6. There is a plastic version that's a bit cheaper: http://www.mysewingmachineparts.com/top-quality-plastic-sewing-machine-bobbins-136492-001-baby-lock-bernina-brother-riccar-simplicity-white/ . These two links include both other machines that use the bobbin and alternative part numbers to locate them from other vendors.

If you ask at a local sewing machine store for the Brother PE100 or BabyLock BL2100 bobbins, they should be able to help you find them.

I hope this helps.

What's wrong with the machine when the thread is skipping on top and bottom.

hi, it could be several things

damaged needle---try new needle

needle is not correctly inserted into machine----flat side of the needle goes to the back of the machine

wrong size needle for the fabric--choose a needle to suit thread & fabric

the wrong foot is attached--select correct foot

if you check all these things & they don't help then it's possible the machine is out of time

I need to change a needle in a Simplicity Serger SL370 but can't figure out how to do it....

for the two upper needles you use the "L" shaped tool that came with the serger. All you do is stick it in the hole for the needle you need to change. Upper leftish one is for the one on the left, lower rightish one is for the right side needle. That loosens the neelde and it slides down. Put new needle in, slide it up, put the L tool back in the hole and tighten.

Simplicity snowblower stopped augerin. how do i change shear pin?

Make sure the motor is off and the key is out. Look on the center of each side of the axle that contains the blades. Rotate the blades slowly until you find the holes left by the missing bolts. stick a small screwdriverin the back of the hole to keep the keyway aligned. PLace the new bolt on the end of the screwdriver ( that should be facing you ). Slowly push the bolt through the keyway until the screwdriver pops out the other end. then attach the nut and tighten firly but do not overtighten.

Material pulling/shifting to one side

sounds like you're foot pressure is off, foot pressure and stitch length are the 2 main things that would cause "drifting" (they're also knobs that little hands could of moved) Also your little one quite possibly could of spun these knobs several times so keep that in mind while dialing your machine back to good health
