I am restoring my computer after it was cleaned of a virus. My start up/printer info was wiped out therefore I can not print with my Accel-A-Write 3N. I need a free download of start up. Can you help me?

you will need a computer/tablet to upload.. googleplus will scan for virus's while uploading and clean files. then you should wipe your device and restore from factory.

You don't necessarily have to wipe a computer to fix a virus (not usually anyway) try malwarebytes.org for the best malware scanner and/or avg for a great antivirus scanner. If you do need to wipe it then you will either need a Dell restore CD or Dell may have a hidden partition that you can get to, in order to do a restore. Check the Dell.com website for your make and model of netbook for more info.

GO INTO START, CLICK ON COMPUTER AND UPDATE YOUR COMPUTER. YOU MAY HAVE TO TURN YOU ANTI-VIRUS, DEFENDER ETC, BACK ON WHICH YOU CAN ALSO DO IN YOUR COMPUTER.

WHEN INSTALLING NEW SOFTWARE, ANTIVIRUS IS USUALLY DISABLED, JUST ENABLE IT...TYPE IN ENABLE ANTI-VIRUS, IT WILL COME UP AND CHOOSE YOUR OPTIONS, YOU'LL HAVE TO DO THIS FOR YOUR FIRE WALL AND DEFENDER IF YOU HAVE THOSE ENABLE ALL OF THEM.

WHEN DONE RESTART, MAKE SURE YOUR PRINTER IS HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER, SO IT CAN BE DETECTED AND INSTALLED WHEN STARTING THE COMPUTER.

IF YOUR COMPUTER DOESN'T DETECT YOUR PRINTER, THAN GO INTO YOUR COMPUTER, CLICK ON ADD PRINTER, EITHER AUTOMATIALLY DETECT, OR ENTER THE INFO OF TYPE OF PRINTER AND WHETHER YOU HAVE THE DISK, INSERT DISK, IF YOU DON'T HAVE DISK, THEN CLICK ALL PRINTER INFO, WHAT BRAND & MODEL CLICK NEXT.

YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART AGAIN, AFTER INSTALLING YOUR PRINTER, IF THAT IS NECCESSARY! SHOULD BE OK AFTER YOU ENABLE YOUR VIRUS PROTECTION.

Check the cartridges to see if they are properly in place, check the papers to see if they need to be push further in the paper tray.Usually those are common problems, there are other things you can do such as clean the print drum, to clean the print drum you need to follow these steps: Open the printer and remove the toner cartridge.Inspect the drum for sign of damage,if it is damage you should replace it.Remove any large spots of toner with a tweezer or pliers,pay close attention while doing this because you need to avoid scratching the surface of the drum.Dip a cotton swap into rubbing alcohol and gently swipe any visible soil on the drum.If the entire drum is dirty put a few drops of alcohol on a lint free cloth and carefully wipe the drum. If you notice dirt anywhere else you should clean it while the cartridge is still out.Reinstall the cartridge and print a few test pages to see if the problem is solve,if the problem still exist you should replace the drum.

Hi! Try system restore first and check if that will remove the virus but if not then you can reset the machine to factory defaults by pressing ALT+F10 during start up or when the acer logo appears on your screen.Follow the prompts and you should be able to reset the computer to factory image.Make sure you back up important files because it will wipe the system clean.hope this helps...

STEP 1: Disconnect and Reconnect the Printer Power Supply
1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
2. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.
5. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.

STEP 2: Run a nozzle clean on the Dell A940 inkjet printer.

To run a nozzle clean, perform the following steps:

1. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Dell Printers, point to Dell AIO Printer A940, and then click Dell Printer Solution Center.
The Dell Printer Solution Center menu appears.
2. Click the Maintenance button.
The Maintenance window appears.
3. Click the Clean to fix horizontal streaks button.
4. Click the Print button.
The Nozzle Clean function prints a page.
5. Check the Nozzle Clean Printout to verify that it is free of defects and that all expected color bars exist on the page

STEP 3: Restore the printer settings to factory default

To restore the printer settings to factory default, perform the following steps:

1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
3. Click Printers and Faxes.
4. Right-click the Dell Printer icon, and then left-click Properties.
5. Click Printing Preferences.
6. Click to select Save Settings.
7. Under Restore, click Factory Settings (Defaults).

STEP 4: Clean the Contacts and Wick the Ink Cartridge

Wicking the cartridges and cleaning the contacts on the back of the cartridge should be performed if the nozzle clean was performed and the quality was not satisfactory.

Wicking the Cartridge

1. Ensure the printer is powered on.
2. Lift the scanner unit.
3. Open the cartridge latches and remove the cartridges from the carrier.
4. Take a clean, damp cloth and wipe the nozzle of the print cartridge from front to back

Note: Never wipe the cartridges from side to side, as this causes cross-contamination in color cartridges.

Cleaning the Contacts

1. Turn the cartridge so that you are looking at the contacts on the back side of the cartridge
2. Using a clean dry cloth, wipe the contacts so that no dust or other contaminants are visible.

Note: Do not use the same cloth that was used to clean the cartridge nozzles. This may cause more contamination on the cartridge.

3. Clean the contact inside the printer with the dry cloth used to clean the cartridge contacts.
4. Replace the cartridges in the carrier and close the scanner unit.
5. Print the document again.
6. If the print quality does not improve, repeat the steps for cleaning the nozzles and contacts up to two more times as needed.


Then run again STEP 2. If the printer still prints in blank pages, contact Dell Technical Support. They may need to replace the Ink Cartridges.

New printer? Or have you changed them before? Make doubly sure all tape is off the new cartridge and that you did not accidentally touch the gold surface of cartridge (can result in read errors). Wipe it very softly with a non perfumed baby wipe, yes! a baby wipe! I have had good success this way. Also do a clean with the printers own cleaning system and print a test page after each clean or step. Run virus checks and spyware checks on pc just in case. Does it give any other error messages? You may have a badly clogged printhead (so notorious this range of canons for clogs) use proper cleaning solution and cotton buds and thoroughly clean where cartrigde goes (printhead) do not be afraid, repeat until no residue comes away. Try printing now.
