Hi:
This is likely due to bad capacitors on the inverter board, also you may want to check the power supply for bad and or leaky capacitors also.

I have an asus that keeps flickering no matter what i do

Flickering typically means a bad connection somewhere. If the machine is staying on and only the screen is flickering, it may be the hinges. If you move the screen back and forth, does it change the flickering? If so, the hinges can be sprayed with contact cleaner (availabled at frys or radio shack). If not, it may be another bad connection of some sort such as the connector for the screen. This will involve taking the case apart (lots of tiny screws) and turning the machine on while you wiggle the multi-wire connector that goes to the screen. Be careful not to shock yourself or shock the circuit boards with static. Avoid touching any metal inside the case. If you discover a bad connection, you can then use contact cleaner to try and fix it. Worst case, it could be crack in a weld on the motherboard. Hopefully not. Good luck!

My computer screen flickers when you start it up what could it be

It is normal to flicker if the computer is turned on (on a cold boot), but there could be a problem on it if it keeps on flickering inside the operating system.

MacBook Screen Problem

Hi there
If I understand you correctly from start up the screen is dim but does brighten up after time? But now after start up you are getting a flicker how ever a restart solves this.

On the dimming issue. Check your energy saving settings and brightness key is working OK.

The flickering is a bit of a concern.

Just a couple of questions.
Are there any dead spots on the screen? Areas where there are no pixels.
When you tilt the screen forward and backward, does this effect the brightness or flickering?
