Chances are the part has been discontinued. You might want to check for a replacement motor. Sometimes panasonic may have something compatible. Good luck

I forgot to put a bag in my kenmore vacuum cleaner, now it will not suction and the wheel at the bottom will not turn. the motor seems to work fine.

If the motor is running, there's a good possibility the fan is broken or worn down. This will result in no airflow. Solution? Replace the fan assembly or vacuum. I recommend a vacuum that won't run without a bag and has sturdier and multiple fans in the motor assembly.

Power head for Kenmore Canister Vac

Another potential problem for the increase in difficulty in turning the beater bar (drum) could stem from extremely dirty bearings, located at each end of the beater bar. I've seen hair knotted up to the point it chokes the bar and significantly reduces its ability tpo turn.

Smoke coming out of my Kenmore Canister Vacuum Model 22550300C

Sounds like a motor err. Could be repaired by a professional but it never be as good as a new one. Also they you might not find anyone to repair it because the replacement motor might cost more than a new vacuum /considering it's age the motor will be hard to find and that makes it more expensive to repair./

I suggest you to buy a new vacuum.

Loud whistling noise from back of vacuum

On the back side of most kenmore vacuums, there is an air relief diaphragm that, when the motor is sucking but there is no air flow, will pop, causing the sound you heard. check your hose for blockage, check your bag and or filter for blockage, even your attachments/wands can become lodged with debris. Often, after a few, the motor will get hot and the machine will shut down. This is a thermostat on the motor that protects it from overheating. I am quite sure that this will solve your kenmore woes, fine choice in vacuum, kenmore, tried and true. hope to have helped! Have a super, and hopefully sucking(ha ha) Sunday

Kenmore 23513 canister vacuum won't turn off

Is there two switches for the unit, one for the handle (pick up unit) and brush assembly, and one for the vacuum motor? If so it seems that the handle unit is o.k. but the problem may be the switch to the vacuum motor. I would suggest testing the vacuum motor switch with an ohm meter for continuity through the switch. If its at fault replace it. You can probably purchase one from Sears or maybe Radio Shack.
Good Luck!
p.s. do not work on vacuum if plugged in.

Vacuum won't come on

The switch in the hose maybe bad, motor problem, or some of these cannisters have a relay mounted by the motor, it may be bad.
