I searched thru some manuals and here is some information that will assist you,

Terminal #'s
1 - Zone temp sensor (0-5vdc) to LTB-1 in unit
2 - Common to LTB-2 in unit
3 - Cooling setpoint (0-5vdc) to LTB-3 in unit
4 - Mode (heat,cool,auto) (0-5vdc) to LTB-4 in unit
5 - Heating setpoint (0-5vdc) to LTB-5 in unit

Here is a Trane manual which show some examples of the wiring setup
http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:omQv3QE8zxQJ:www2.jec.com/THKweb/prodcat/TSC/T_C-IOM-2_0304.pdf+trane+thermostat+baysens008b+manual&hl=en&gl=us&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESjtkrgV47611R5U14YC6Oys5ZaRdFN_ugoKD68zD8oU0IALPLRK_jj5kILkviQzJHBuHBT64t394EqUcF_Dq_3WUfpTX_PTURa-yLmLZ_wgldhoW25pn5cOpwFnYG2z0mrlAB3o&sig=AHIEtbROJAJlDKtgN-LzCpXNA85Gx8AbOg

Here is and excerpt from another trane maual:

"Connect the wiring to the appropriate
terminals at the unit control panel and
at the zone sensor subbase. In general,
zone sensor connections to the unit use
the convention of connecting zone
sensor terminals to like numbered unit
terminals (1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc.). The
connection detail is shown on the unit
wiring diagrams, which are located in
the unit control panel."

This maual talks about and shows your BAYSENS008B :
http://www.trane.com/download/equipmentpdfs/scxfsvx01b.pdf

I believe this should explain enough details. The bottom line is that the terminals on the thermostat correspond to the terminals on your ac unit.

Wiring diagram for Bay SEN SOL 9-B, Need to know what the numbers control on the thermostat, lost manual with wiring diagram.

trane used dc t-stat for a while with a sensor in line.It was designed to run off of the sensor in the event that the t-stat failed. If your model is like that get a dc-ac converter board and you can use any 24vac t-stat.Will take alot of problems away because the dc will pick up residual current if using unshielded wiring.

Hello i want to conect a trane condensator 2twb0036a1000ba to a trane evaporator mww536k10raa i need a wiring diagram

Your wiring concerns may be more with the thermostat wiring connections than the condensor connections. if you look inside the cover of the evaporator unit (usually called air handler) there should be a wiring diagram glued to the panel cover. This diagram will show all 3 units (stat, cndsr, airhndlr) and the wiring needed between them. Trane and Lennox are notorious for having the most wiring between components. You also need to be sure the stat is the correct type for the system (i assume this is a heat pump system) and there can be as many as 9 wires from stat to system and 6 wires from inside to outside units. Also, the stat will have a wiring diagram with it that shows most typical system wiring including the wiring between in and out units. Your best bet (if you have no diagram on the unit or with the stat) is to call trane and have their tech division fax a diagram to you. Goodluck,Macgivor

I had a 14 seers Trane installed 18 months ago. The thermostat goes blank and the system doesnt come back on until I flip the breaker or disconnect power to the ac.

try replacing the batteries in the thermostat on your wall. probably has 2 AA's this may fix it if not may have bad or old wiring from tstat to main indoor system. when you had a trane installed did they change the air condition components only(likely) or did they put in new furnace, new wiring, new t-stat, a full install?

Wiring Trane/Honeywell TH8320U

use the outside designations for heat pump, and inside for standard, I would assume a heat pump since you have more than five wires attached to it now. Use the colors of the wire to match to the designations, use tan for y2, black for w2 rc and rh should already have a factory jumper. I would have to trace out the "U" and see where it terminates, I have not seen a bare wire on a stat in 27 years of doing this. before powering, verify the tan and black at the indoor unit circuit board and see if they are landed on the terminals designated at the stat. hope this helps

Thermostat wiring

99.99% of the modern residential units use only one transformer to power the 24 volts for both the furnace and the a/c unit. It will be located in the furnace. The outdoor unit will not have its own transformer unless its reeallllly old. Place a small jumper wire between w1 & w2 terminals on the thermostat. (The lux brand is not the professionals choice) (if you have problems replace with a honeywell or white rodgers brand).
Good luck.....

Trane weathertron thermosatat

OK. Here is a Trane Weathertron BAYSTAT240 thermostat wiring picture. This heat pump w/ electric (emergency) heaters is running right now. Notice the G terminal has green wire, the R terminal has red wire, the white wire is jumpered from W to X2, etc. The black wire loop you see in the center hole is unconnected.

This unit is adjusted by leveling the base - loosen the screw to the left of "R" and the one to the right of "F". Twist the base clockwise to RAISE the indicator. This makes the mercury in the switch turn ON at a different temperature. Remember to tighten those 2 screws again.

You will have to experiment several times to make the unit read exactly right. If the tech installed the base exactly level, the unit would read right (it says here).
