Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Lines running through pictures....exactly the same place in each picture. Printer a month or so old. Pictures were great at first and then lines ran through pictures exactly the same place in each picture....cleaned the heads and finally changed all ink cartridges. Again pictures were great for a few pictures and again a thin line runs through pictures now. Very disappointed with printer....HP printer was better till it died. Was told by salesman that this would be a great printer for my needs and haven't been able to do anything with it. Went back to store and salesman had no idea what was wrong, told me to Google for this problem. I think it is an insult to be told this, when I just gave them the money.....any suggestions??????

I have an impact S301 and when I print pictures there are horizontal grid lines. What do I do?

You need to clean your print head. Some printers have a "clean" function, maybe if you look in your manual you can find out how to activate it. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

My pictures are getting yellow streaks as they print out

If you are getting "yellow streaks", run the Kodak "print-head-cleaning" software, to see if that helps.

Be sure to compare the cost of "repairing" the printer to that of buying a new printer (that would use the same ink-cartridges).

The color is not adjusted right.

The first step is to determine whether the problem is in the printer or the driver.
Run an alignment test and then, using the printer menu, print a picture that is within the printer.

If the internal picture has the same problem, and all ink cartridges are flowing properly (you will be able to tell from the alignment test), printer replacement is going to be the least expensive repair.

If the internal picture prints ok, then try printing a picture from the computer again. If that gives you the old problem, disconnect the printer from the computer. Then, uninstall the printer, reboot twice and reinstall the driver, hooking up the printer when asked.

HP J5780 Problem-Line on printed pages

most likely you have a flat spot on the roller.
that is exactly what is going to happen, when the paper hits the flat spot or a low spot. the paper stops and skips. them the print is coming out smeared.
you can get a repair kit or replacement roller from HP.

Horizontal lines in pictures

If you are using original cartridges then there should not be a problem. The horizontal lines come from the cartridge. Can you pinpoint if it is a color or black line that is missing? My guess is that during the alignment procedure, you are asked to choose a number or letter that corresponds to picture of a the lines that show the best alignment. If you did this correctly, may I ask how many pictures you printed before seeing that line. Is it on the first print or 10th printing? Cuz if it is on the 5th or more full color picture, then the problem is that you you really have the wrong printer. The F380 capacity for printing full color pictures is miniscule. 1 ml per color. So usually after the 3rd color picture, the ink starts to run out. Let me know if this helps.
