Question about Lucent Lands Phones

Open Question

I have a Lucent SoundPoint Speakerphone which I like and want to plug it into a ShoreTel230. There is no appropriate jack in the Shoretel230 to plug into. Is there some converter or adaptor I need? The shortel has a standard audio jack. The Speakerphone has what looks like an ethernet jack but isn't an ethernet.

SOURCE: Using different speakers for TV

If it does not have anything besides optical it will not work unless you have a system capable of optical input (some Logitechs have it, but don't remember which ones, i know that the Z-5500 does certainly have it but that's not too cheap).

Weird that it doesn't have a a headphone jack indeed. But if it doesn't, that optical digital out is the only way to connect it.

Hello Samnbrone200,

Lucent
was the FIRST name of WESTERN ELECTRIC...

after divestiture (the break-up of the Bell System)...

Which means ... while NOT YOUNG... that is a fairly
robust (high quality) telephone set... (vintage 1983).

If you use it as a wall phone... or desk set...

It is actually IMPORTANT to have the
HANDSET HOOK set appropriately
(read the manual... (see below)).

Check the BATTERY CONTACTS and make sure
they are clean & shiny... If NOT...
Use a soft graphite pencil to gently burnish the
battery contacts.

If they are heavily corroded ... comment me back & I
will detail instructions on how to restore (or replace)
functionality...

Keep the hand-set cradle clean... and sharply
peck the switch hook a few times to get those old contacts attention...

(technical term: cycle the switch-hook).

With a little regular use that phone can give another
few DECADES of service...!!

How do I mute my MLS-34D when using Speakerphone?

5104,

The button that mutes the speakerphone is the mic/HFAI key located above your speaker button. The mic mute feature works while using the speaker, when the phone is idle it works as the handsfree answerback intercom.
hope that helps,

Phone connection for Lucent 854

You can get a splitter for it which will then divide that one phone jack into 3 out or 4 out which ever you need. the only problem that you might run into is how close the phones might be to each other. Otherwise there isn't much other ways around it with only one phone jack.
