Question about Canon Digital Cameras

Pictures appear 6 x 4 when developed on my Canon Selphy DS810. How can I change them to be developed 4 x 6 instead. I have pictures that have heads chopped off when developed 6 x 4. If I can change them to 4 x 6 will that solve my problem

The program that I am using to develop these pictures is built into the Canon Selphy DS810 so I do not need paint shop pro for my photo image editing needs. Please respond with the information I have presented.

    Thank you.

Dear Sir/madam,

Press the Trimming key, and a resizable, movable grid appears over the photo image so that you can crop the photo within the constraints of the 4x6 print's 2:3 aspect ratio. There's also a Search button to find images on the memory card by date range, as well as a pair of zoom keys for enlarging or reducing the image on the screen. Printing functions are accessed with the Print, Stop/Reset, and OK buttons.

Most of the settings available for stand-alone printing involve layout or crop/trim options, as well as some image-optimizing choices, including red-eye reduction, saturation enhancement, noise reduction, brightness/contrast/hue adjustment, and a Face Brightener feature. The color-balancing adjustment involves printing a sample sheet with nine different versions, then reprinting using your preferred setting. When printing from a computer using Canon's driver, you can access most of these settings, plus grayscale printing and a few extra special effects. Cropping, color correction, and other tweaks can be applied using the bundled Easy-PhotoPrint software or your own image editor.

Thanks
Good luck

You need to set on the Auto rotate option on Canon Solutions software.

Canon cameras have an Auto rotate (on/off), this will automatically rotate images taken in portrait mode correctly. Camera may get a bit slower when you activate auto rotate, this is normal.
If you instead want to change paper orientation when printing pictures, then you have to change orientation settings on the machine you are using to print your photos.

If you go to your Canon Selphy DS810 properties, there you should find the orientation option.

Else using this printer.. you would have recieved a bundle software along with the driver CD's... you can use that software to edit pictures to scale.. since you say your head is being chopped off, you can rotate the pic and then crop it to scale..

    Thankyou

I would recommend you to use Adobe photoshop for photo editing because that is what they use in studio else, you can get small image editing softwares to do in a simple way..

    Thankyou

assuming you are using Windows and if
so, it should be located here, C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats

  • tech expert12 Aug 15, 2008

Yes, you have to move the thumbnail slider. When you do the thumbnail and the preview image stay exactly the same size as they show in my screen shot.
This problem only occurs with D200 NEF files. It does not apply to D200 jpegs or D70 NEFs or any other file I have on my system.

Here's a snippit from the Camera Raw 3.3 readme:

Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Creative Suite 2:
    Windows ?? :
    1. Exit Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Bridge.
    2. Open My Computer.
    3. Double-click Local Disk (C:).
    4. Navigate to Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats.
    5. Move the existing Camera Raw.8bi plug-in to another location (for
example, a new folder on your
desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
    6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the download into
    the same folder as
    Step 4.
    7. Launch Photoshop CS2 or Adobe Bridge.

What program are you using when you "develop" these pictures. I would recommend paint shop pro for all your photo/image editing needs. Once I have more information I can assist you further so please don't reject my help.
Thanks,
Lee

Since your printing straight from the camera you may in fact need/want photo editing software. You can do batch conversions of pictures where all of them can get "cropped" to 4x6 with one click. You can refer to the user manual and printer guide found here if you are still trying to figure out how to do it on the printer itself.

I hope you will reconsider your rating as you should find my assistance at least helpful.
    Thanks,

If you can not adjust the settings to your liking on the printer itself then you will need to use a photo editing program of some sort to print them off.
    Thanks,

Can get LCD screen to turn on On Canon EOS 350D, working when reviewing photos!

If the LCD works when reviewing photos, then it appears the LCD is working. Can you see the menu when you press the MENU button?

If you're expecting to be able to use the LCD to compose your pictures, you're not going to with this camera. The LiveView ability is a relatively recent development in DSLRS, the 350D works as SLRs have worked for half a century, requiring you to use the viewfinder to compose your pictures.

Are you saying you want to tether the camera to the computer so that what you want o photograph appears on the screen? If so, you need to spend a lot more money on the professional Canons to do that.

Reset the menus to factory setting or default settings. You can also try this: remove the battery and let it sit for at least 24 hours. This should reset all setting to default. Also you can adjust the settings in the menus to darken the pictures slightly.
You may want to call Canon, they have great support. Ask the support if needed for repairs, and of course make sure to ask how much as well.

How do you take black and white pictures instead of color? I don't want to wait until I develop it and change it then as the quality isn't as good.

Press the function button, then scroll down to the "My Colors" icon (it will show OFF initially). Now scroll over to the BW icon and press the function button again. To return to normal shooting, do the same thing but select OFF.

Wish to load my pic to ebay , from my canon pro1 camera

1.connect cam via usb link and check your cam.your cam will show option choose "data storage".the other options will need a software to be installed in the pc.
2.find the icon in my computer or at the right lower side of the monitor/screen which confirms the camera is connected. This will show the "drive"
3.click on the "drive"...until it shows the letters DCIM.
4 click again and now will show all the pictures on the camera.
5. choose what picture you like to upload from your cam to pc. you can also choose all of them.
6. if your done transfering your pictures to your pc you can now upload pictures to your ebay.
just click upload from your ebay profile.
7. then a "browse" will appear. cllick browse and find the folder where you save the pictures you have loaded from the cam to pc, and click okey/open.
8. check your ebay to confirm that the picture has been loaded.

this is the other way to load pictures from your cam to pc:

youll need a card reader hooked up to your computer via a USB and your memory card.
If required, youll load your memory card into the card reader. Your digital media will appear as another drive on your computer. Click the drive and your photos will appear in a folder on the drive. You can view your pictures immediately by double-clicking the file. From here, you can save your pictures directly to any folder on your computer.

i hope iwas able to help you! good luck!

Date on pics

HOW TO TURN ON THE CAMERA

Mar 13, 2008 | Canon PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera

1 Answer

Display date & time on developed pictures

When you say it's displayed on the screen, do you mean while it's in playback mode, it's embedded there?

If not, you will have to put your resoltion in postcard mode and make sure in menu that your date or date/time stamp is turned on.

To get to your resolution settings, turn camera on to shooting mode, hit function/set button and arrow down to the bottom left corner where it will show your resolution (L,M,S, etc) and this is where you will find postcard mode.

This setting is the only one you can use date time stamp and will show up in prints, but only good for 4 x 6 prints, anything larger will not be good resolution, it will be pixelated because it's only enough quality for a small print.

Hope this helps!

Developed photo's aren't turning out well

I think it's the photo service. Check and see if there's a cropping option. I use shutterfly.com and if the top of a head is cut off in the preview, I just pick the crop option and change it. The service tries to crop the pictures accurately but sometimes you have to go in and force it to crop the way you want to. I'm sure Walgreens and Walmart's services will both have similar features.
