Call 1-800-Samsung to set up a warranty service call. They will repair it in your home if they send a Samsung Field Engineer. You probably have a bad Main bd.

The Samsung SyncMaster 940MW monitor has an issue with the power supply going out. The flashing power light or not turning on are the classic symptoms of this issue. Check out our web site at: www.ccl-la.com Look on the monitor repair page 2. We have a step by step repair guide posted that will guide to doing the repair yourself. It involves changing a few capacitors on the power supply. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping. If you have any additional questions just let us know at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Most likely cause are leaking capacitors in the power supply, however I've seen the convergence IC cause the same problem. If you have a good ERS meter and are willing to check parts one by one then start with the DC side of the power supply. I fast scope makes this easier. There are a lot of safety precautions you need to be aware of. These are listed in the service manual, which you'll have to have to do this kind of work. If you don't have any of the above then I wouldn't recommend you try to tackle this. Find a reputable repair person.
