Question about Pentax Espio 738S 35mm Point and Shoot Camera
When i turn on my camera the zoom lens zooms out then zooms back in and u3 flashes in the display and camera wont take pictures
SOURCE: zoom lens not retracting
May be a bit of grit gas got in. Do not try to manually manipulate it- this will wreck the motor drive. A Vacuum clean suck way have some affect. Certainly contact Pentax Tech Support Team .

can you see the lens in the finder move when you zoom out? if not ,the finder lens is stuck.
if it does move when zooming, see if you have a diopter adjustment wheel or sliding knob near the front lens of the finder. if so adjust the lens to your eye.

You can download the manual from here http://www.pentaximaging.com/support/manuals-and-literature/
Please note that P3N = P30N
Hope this helps.

If the 'U' disappears when the zoom lever is moved your camera is ready to use. It may be defective if it comes up often.
