Question about Cameras

1 Answer

My ex Z1000 wont take pictures. i turn the camera on the lens goes in and out some times it looks like its going to let me take a picture and then the lens closes back into the camera and the screen goes black. It looks like the cameras off but I push the play button on top and it lets me view pictures. I don't think its the lens because the lens seems to open and close fine. Ive only used this camera 3 times and it has been stored safely so Im not sure what happened. It will only let me get into the menu when looking at pictures as well. Please help Im pregnant and would love to have this camera working before the baby shows up in a few days and I really cant afford to buy a new one with all the baby items and new car ( safety 1st) I just had to buy.

It wont even let me take a picture. I charged the battery over night and the same thing. It asks for the date and time. Then the zoom lens goes out the lens opens than the lens closes and then the zoom goes back in and then the screen goes black again

Baby is due May 29th but trying to make it until at least June 6th. They say the brain develops 19% more if I can make it to 41 weeks. So I guess I might just have to bite the bullet on this one and maybe get a new one (with warranty). It will be hard but I have to have pictures of my baby boy.. Plus if I don;t put pictures up of facebook my family that lives way up north will kill me. Well thank you. Target has a sale on Kodak this week so I will go check that out.. Thank you again.

hi, according to your detail "wont even let you take a picture"and lens retracts then is its shutter doesn't working in lens unit. When lens goes out and in these does not mean lens working.
    Thanks...have good day!

I really like to help you out. Your unit has defective lens unit according to my experience mostly. More than 90% that I am sure. And they sell part for that $34.99 plus shipping which is not economical that I can repair for you. But time and money doesn't fit to you. When is it your baby due day?
    Thanks and best regard!

How do I download pictures from my new Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 to my Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.5?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

When I turn on the camera the lens comes out then closes and shuts off. I can view pictures, but the camera mode doesn't work at all. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, but the problem...

Possible broken spring mount in lens. This spring holds the focus lens. I had the same problem on an EX S600 and was able to fix it by taking the lens assembly out and taking it apart and making a spring mount out of a small piece of wire and glueing it in. This is not an easy job as everything is very tiny. It takes time and patience. Seems the camera tries to autofocus but can't because the spring is not connected. It then just shuts off.

Casio EX-Z1000 camera

You can always format your camera and that would erase everything on your camera. In picture taking mode press menu and go to setup, go down to format and press right arrow and confirm steps through there.

I dropped my Casio EX-Z1000 on a tile floor. The camera turns on and the lens goes out and quickly retracts and camera shuts off. I can still view pictures on my card and can enter info on date, time, etc....

Unfortunitly when ever a digital camera is dropped it can cause the lens to come out of alignment this is what causes the error or problem. The len has several moving parts and can be replace most of the time it knocks the focus motor and zoom motor out of sync thust causing the lens to go out to try and post and sience the camera can tell the alignment is off then the lens goes back in. The repair for this should be around 100.00 I just got through fixing 2 of these for the same problem. Sorry but I hope this helps.

White lines when you take photos in light, but perfect in the dark

The problem lies in you camera's CCD unit which is located on the back of the lens held on be 3 small screws it could also be a setting in the camera's menu try going into the menu and reseting the camera to default it works some times if that does not work than you need the ccd replaced pretty easy fix I fixed 1 with the same problem about two weeks ago for someone it happens I hope this helps you out.
