It seems early on I accidently got the function of web cam but now I cannot duplicate it. I have tried the usb mode in camera and menu without getting the web cam mode. I want to use the camera to feed the video to my laptop and use the laptop to provide input to a projector for instructional purposes. is there any way to connect the usb input to the windows media player, that would accomplish what I am after.

Lost the Web Camera driver disk for my Coby Snapp 3000, can't seem to find the drivers online.. Any solution?

Hello Werewolf, According to the manual here http://www.cobyusa.com/files/manuals/CAM3000_MN.pdf
You should not need any driver just plug it in a USB port and Windows will detect it
Transferring Recordings to a Computer Connect the CAM3000 to a computer with the provided USB cable to: ? Transfer files from your camcorder ? Perform basic file management functions. The USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection makes it easy to transfer recordings quickly from the camcorder to your computer. I have the cam plugged into my computer and the green light wont turn on so my cam doesnt work

Hi! i would like to help you with this.

First clue helped me understand that the green light wont turn on, which clearly says that there is no power supply for the webcam.

second thing i would like you to try is.
*please check for loose connectivity issue.
*please check of the port in the computer( where you plug in the cable) or the connector pin is damaged, broken or loose.
*then please check of the driver is installed in the DEVICE MANAGER.

How to get into DEVICE MANGER:
*please click START> RUN.. type in "devmgmt.msc" and click OK.
*then the device manger will open. there you can see drivers for keyboards and all hardware components. please look out for "imaging devices". if you expand it.... you will find the webcam driver.

** if there is any exclamation, question or X mark on it. please let me know. there might be some problem in the driver installation.
** also please let me know the operating system and please check if you installed the webcam software.

please let me know if you need more help. Thank you:)

Use sony dcr-sr40 as webcam

unfortunately for this model, it would not be possible to be use as a webcam. it uses HDD as its recording media. it may actually work if you have:
1.an a/v capture card installed in your computer that connects to the a/v jack of the camcorder.
2.a webcam application software that supports a/v connection
basically, you would need a camcorder that that has a usb streaming feature and a computer that has an OS that supports it (i.e win xp),or you can use ilink (dv or ieee1394) connection So you should be using a digital-8 or dv camcorder.it works perfectly as a webcam.of course, your webcam software should be designed to work with whatever connection your using.hope this info helps.tnx:)

How to use a dvd cam as a webcam

hi!
i have a camcorder too im using it for some capturing videos on some places. i have webcam for chats and capturing pictures on a computer.so i suggest that use a webcam instead of camcorder. it will be pretty easy to use.

but if you want to use your camcorder as a webcam heres my help. all brand new camcorders have their own cables like usb, adapter, cd drivers, etc.. In interface on your camcorder just plug the usb to your computer. make sure that the computer will detect your camcorder. It will notify you for the installation of your device. If the computer searching for the drivers hardware just insert the cd driver included on the package of your camcorder. install it and when the computer will say that "your device is all ready to use" it means that the computer and your camcorder ready for some capturing moment or can use it as a webcam. i myself is using a yahoo messenger. the best way to apply for some devices like webcams and camcorders. it can easily detected.

i hope that my solutions help you!

My PC wont recognize my panasonic NV-GS70 camcorder as a webcam, it recognises new hardware but then cannot install the DVC serial device. Think I need a driver. Any ideas?

Yes you must install a USB camera driver that came with the camcorder. If you have lost the CD, then you can go to the manufacturer's site and find it. After installing the driver, you have to set the camcorder into Webcam mode. The technique will vary from camcorder to camcorder, as explained in the owner's manual. Also do a search on your comp using something like "using camcorder as a webcam" USB camera driver for XXXX", etc. etc.

Webcam

For the first user, The screen will cut off on the camera when you plug it into your computer. That is the way it's supposed to work. Make sure your camera is set to webcam. That will be under video resolution in your tools and settings screen. Looking at your camera, it will (or should) be the bottom left button. The camera won't work properly on your computer in Hi Def and that's probably why Yahoo won't recognize it. The resolution is just way too much for it to handle. Hope this helps some.

For the second one, did you install your driver software? Good, had to ask, don't cuss me! (HaHa) Okay, plug in your camera, open the little viewscreen on your camera (this MUST be open or you'll only charge your camera, go to my computer, then to whichever drive your camera is hooked to. It's removable media "L" on my computer, but yours may be different. Click (or double click) on that. You should see an icon that says DCIM, double click. Click on 100 media. Your files should come up. Hope this helps.
