Heat/Cool does not respond after replacing Trane Weathertron BAYSTAT239 with Honeywell RTHL3550

Sounds like you didn't turn the power off and blew the low voltage fuse. Typically a 5 amp blade style (like a car) inside furnace. TURN THE POWER OFF!!

Changing From Trane to Honeywell

Color ---> New stat terminal

Blue--------C
Green------G
Yellow-----Y
Orange----O
Red---------R
White------E and Aux.
Tan---------unused, tape and secure it

If there is Rh and Rc or R and Rh, these terminals should be jumpered together.

I used to install Weathertrons eons ago. Whatever you do DO NOT connect the blue wire to the B terminal, you will short out your low voltage transformer immediately when you switch to heat

Honeywell RTH6300B to replace Trane Baystat 239

Sad to say but you have bought an non compatible thermostat, what you need is a thermostat that has "Heat Pump" somewhere on the package, Honeywell makes those also in the same models, sometimes they can be tricky if your not looking. It should also say 2heat, 1cool too. Hope this helps and good luck!

Upgrade Baystat 239 to a Honeywell RTH7600D controller

For Trane sytems, B is your "Common" wire. O is your reversing valve relay, G is your fan, Y is your compressor contactor, R is Hot, Brown will not be used on your electronic tstat. X2 is your backup electric heaters. Without knowing what terminals are on your new tstat, I cannot offer more information than this. The installation manual may indicate what each terminal is controlling. I strongly suggest to write down ALL of the terminals and colors from your old t-stat and be sure to turn off the power to your air handler. Put the fan switch on your tstat to ON before turning off the power. Make sure the fan is running. Then turn the power off to your Air Handler. If your fan stops running, you have turned the power off to your tstat and are ready to start replacing it with your new tstat. I hope you find this helpful. Good Luck!!!

I have a honeywell ct3200 with a trane xl 80 furnace. it will cycle on to the right temp, go off and cycle the furnace back on 30 seconds later. Is that normal? It is 32 degrees outside, set at 68

Hi, check page 22 in your manual, it says "Adjust the screws on the back of the thermostat as instructed on page 7." Your furnace is a 80% efficiency but is also a high efficiency 2 stage heating system so try adjusting screws A and B both ways and see which gives you the correct cycling.
Your manual is here:
