We bought one around 2001 and it recently died--no clock or any other power. We had it in storage for 6 years, and have only been using it for several months. But last week it died on us. I'd also like to know if it's worth investigating fixing it, or just scrap it and buy another.

The model MW8103SS was made from around Spring 2001, so yours may have been made that year or the year before.

What specific problem are you having with it?

I had the same problem with the same make and model microwave. Do I have to remove the back to change the fuse? I spoke with a Home Depot rep who said there is risk of shocking yourself if fixing it yourself. Is it worth changing the fuse or buying a new one?

I have been using microwave without wave guide cover for 3 years but microwave is till working fine. As I didn't realise what it was though it was part of packing. Can I replace it know or should I buy...

Hi Jane,
A microwave works by generating microwaves from a magnetron. Leakage of microwaves can be harmful. I suggest that you check which part you have removed by checking the part against a parts list for the microwave. You can see all the parts listed on the internet site -
You will find each part listed here and its part number. The magnetron is shown in the diagram as number 16, instead of 15. Contact this supplier or your local electronic supplier to identify and replace the part.
If the part is cheap enough and available, replace the part carefully - otherwise buy a new microwave.

Its not working when i set the time to cook its counts down the time but its not heating and the not rotating ....

In a no heat situation, it is quite common to find the door safety interlock switches have failed. Remove the cover, find the switches and check them for proper operation with a volt/ohm meter. These switches are how the oven knows if the door is closed or not. If the oven cannot confirm the door is closed, it will not turn on the heat.

I'm searching for a replacement turntable support for my Emerson MW8102SS and find it's discontinued. Someone surely must carry parts like this, but my searches have turned up nothing. Any recommendations?

The original part number was either M0R0674 or MOR0674.

I checked the best suppliers and eBay and came up dry.

You may be able to find a defective whole microwave.

Here's a Google / Craigslist search you can try.

Good luck.

It just quit. is there a fuse? MW8102SS

most micros have either a 15amp or 20 amp ceramic fuse at the top behind the touch pad. cover has to be removed. don't touch the hv capacitor. check fuse for continuity if none replace with like fuse. if it blows again you have another problem.
