How to restore windows Acer laptop

Hi Tracy - Which model Acer do you have?

Many manufacturers provided either (a) CD / DVDs, (b) a restore partition accessed during boot time, or (c) a program or utility that allows the user to "burn to disk" images of the PC that is accessed at boot time or from inside Windows directly.

Depending on the model of you PC, your Acer should have one or more of these options. If included disks that have been lost or damaged - you might have to purchase replacements. If consisting of images for you to boot into or create - the original hard disk must be in working order - otherwise purchasing replacement media *may* be possible thru Acer.

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

hi

use another computer --- go to the site here -- you will need a USB thumb drive, once you download
the bootdisk information, save it on a thumb drive and then isnert into the Acer mini

http://www.acer.ca/acer/product.do?link=oln85e.redirect&changedAlts=&kcond48e.c2att101=-1&CRC=2759084358

to creata boot disk, you will need the Windows OS (XP, Vista) CD , you can create it usng the thumb drive

Hi, I cannot boot my acer aspire 5315 laptop, No boot filename received. PXE-M)F: Eciting broadcom PXE Romm. No bootable device. Insert boot disk and Press any key. Please can you help. Mant thanks

It looks like your hard disk went invisible, and BIOS is trying all alternative boot options before it says that there's no boot device available.
I'm afraid that the most probable diagnosis is that the hard disk is broken; anyway you'll need hands-on service to establish what's wrong and what can be done.

Laptop has no bootable device.

Hi, normally acer uses 'F12' key to select boot device. Switch on your laptop, make your Hard Disk to be the first boot, your DVDrw to be the 2nd one etc...
However, if you do not see your Hard disk, you should switch off laptop & power it on again by holding 'F2' this time. See if your Hard Disk etc are listed.
If you don't see your HDD, therefore there may be a problem with your Hard Disk & may need replacement...(I hope not)
Well send us your vote & feedback to help us help you!

Hi My acer t135 will not boot up properly when

First of all you must recover your files: download and burn a Linux Live-CD, boot from it and move your files to an USB stick.
All older Acer's have a hidden recovery partition. Check in the BIOS (F2 to boot on my Acer): that Acer Disk to Disk Recovery is activated in the Main panel, which D2D Recovery is well on Enabled. To access it press ALT + F10 once the Acer logo is displayed.
If you don't have one borrow from a friend a retail XP disk and do a Repair or Inplace Upgrade install.

Hello my name is Michael. I would appreciate some help i have an acer aspire 5920 ad would like to reformat it however when i start the computer in any mode including safe mode it says start up repair...

Hi Michael,
Its possible to reformat your hard drive by using a DOS boot floppy disk or CD. You can create this disk on another pc then boot your pc from this disk. It will boot your pc to a DOS prompt, usually "C:>" from there you can create partitions, delete partitions and format the hard drive. The command for creating partitions is FDISK.exe. Make sure your boot disk has the FDISK.exe command on it.
Let me know if you require any further assistance regarding this.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Wont boot up

If youve formatted the hard drive then you need to purchase the recovery media for it.

But you could still try the hdd partition by holding down ALT and F10 on the Acer BIOS splashscreen on power up.

If that doesnt work then you need to by the disk(s).

Hi i have an acer aspire 5720 but the login screen won't come on

Hi.
The Acer Aspire 7520 is a very poorly desiged laptop i also have one which is broken atm.

The best thing you could do is to Refomat and install a fresh copy of windows

You shoud have two recovery disk that you should have burned as soon as you got the laptop.

Put Disk 1/2 into the drive.
Boot up your computer and press ATL+F10 atleast three times.
-Follow the on-scree
n instructions and soon you will be asked to put in the disk 2/2.

At the final phase you will be asked to put in disk 1/2 again...Wait awhile untill everything is install and finished loading and your computer will restart with Facory Defualt Settings.

Please Rate. Thanks
