  • Take the battery out and leave it unplugged for at least 3 days depending on the water that was splashed onto your DS I might wait a week. If you put the battery in or plug it in before that unit is dry of water the water will short out the circuit board and ruin your DSI for good and all. I suggest putting a fan directly on it to further aid in the drying process. The wait will be worth saving your DSI.

Is it waterproof

This device is Water RESISTANT. IPX-5. It can get wet, be splashed and fall into water. As long as it is quickly removed and too much water does not seep through the top holes the speaker will be fine. It works great in the shower where it will constantly get splashed or pool side.

My son dropped his ds in the pool and it got wet

If he tried to turn it on while it was wet the water on the circuitry would act as a conductor and the circuit board could or is fried. If nothing is working which it's probably not you'ld need a new ds. If it's under warranty you could try that but many electronics now have strips to indicate if they've been submerged in water and that will automatically void the warranty from personal negligence. If it got wet and you've not turned it on or done anything yet, remove the battery, let it sit for about 72 hours in an area with a high enough heat to help dissipate the water but not directly in front of a heater or something similar and try it after that point

If it is all plugs I would check the fuel pressure regulator, see if gas leaks out of it when you remove the vacuum hose. It is located on top of the engine, near the fuel rail.

Nintendo DS not reading games

Some pins were bent in my son's DS. I used a mini LED light and an open paper clip as a pick to bend them back into line.
I then got an Emory board (nail file) and wet the tip in alcohol, the board is the right thickness to just reach the copper pins. I went in and out gently as I worked my way across the lot and kept wetting the file with alcohol. All the games worked like it was new. be sure to do this upside down so the alcohol drips out the slot along with the filings. good compressed air blow after you are done to get all the strays out of there.

The pinds are copper and they do oxidize and the games left in gets moisture trapped between the game and the pin causing some corrosion. Maybe diddimilar metals by alloy but wither way this fix works ! : )
