You first need to isolate the problem. Scan from both the automatic document feeder and then from the flat glass. If you get marks on both then you have a problem with the scanner optics. If the lines only appear on one or the other then the likely cause is dirty glass. Clean both the ADF narrow glass and the flat glass with a soft cloth and window cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the cloth not the glass directly. Pay close attention because even the smallest little bit of debris will cause defects you indicate.

Follow these steps on how to scan from the Lexmark X2670 printer using the operator panel. 1. Open the top cover, and then load an original document facedown on the scanner glass.

2. Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image. 3. Make sure that the printer is connected to a computer, and that both the printer and the computer are on. 4. From the printer control panel, press printmastert_51.jpg 5. I have old poloroid pictures that are really dark Can I lighten them???

Yes! but first you must scan them into the computer and open them in a photo editor application like Photoshop. There you can do a whole world of editing including lightening your fotos.

Good luck and god bless!

The scanner copies three photos as one

Assuming you're using the Epson Scan software, select Home or Professional mode and click Preview. When the preview image appears, draw a marquee around each of the three photos. (Note that as you draw each marquee the number beneath the little image of a marquee - the white square with the dotted line around it - increases.) After drawing your marquees, click the All button, then click Scan. The scanner should make three separate passes in succession, producing three separate images.

Scans slides too dark.

maybe the slides are too dark, in other words, the pictures you took didn't have enough exposure therefore you it shows up dark.. You could always use photoshop or someother photo manipulation software to lighten the scan, same thing happens with my hp scanner with slide adapter, if it slides just show up dark, lightening it with software will help, unless it is unsaturated/shadows too dark, etc..

Hope this helps.

HP 5610 scanner won't save image

I just need to understand the exact issue. It sounds like you are able to successfully scan, see the preview of the scanned image, and you initially save it. Then, when you go to open the saved image, you don't see the image you scanned but rather a "line". You've saved the image in a number of different image formats, but there's no difference in the result. It saves the scanned image to the location you want to save it on your computer's hard drive (probably My Pictures if you're using a Windows operating system).

Not sure what you mean by a "line". Do you mean a vertical line, a horizontal line, a diagonal line or what? Also, is it just a solid black line on a white background? Is it the image you scanned compressed into a smaller vertical or horizontal space?

Have to tried scanning both text pages and graphic pages? There have been issues where a document with both text and pictures has been scanned but when the scanned image is viewed, only the text appears. The pictures don't make it. The description of this specific problem is at HP.com.

I take it you don't get any sort of error message associated with this problem. Unfortunately, I can't find your specific problem at HP.com beyond the link I posted in the above paragraph. If you can answer some of the questions I asked, it might help me provide a better solution.

Thanks.

Scan image is discolored

The scanning carriage in the scanner may have lost the home position and needs to be reset. 1. Shut the computer system off, and then disconnect the scanner from the power source. Leave the scanner disconnected from the power source for at least one full minute. 2. Reconnect the power, and then restart the computer system. 3. When the computer system has fully restarted, try scanning again. Ensure the issue is not caused by Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) EMI can cause similar Image Quality issues. Verify that the scanner is not in the direct vicinity of the computer monitor and/or speakers. If so, relocate the scanner at least three feet away from the monitor and/or speakers and retry the scan. good luck..
