Yamaha pf85 14 keys not working & two of the three circuit boards look damaged.

The PF-85 action works by having the hammers strike the contact strip, which in turn connects the trace patterns on the circuit boards you're looking at together.

Any dirt between the contact strip and the circuit board will cause the keys to not function correctly. You can remove dirt with rubbing alcohol (iso-propanol) and a cotton swab. The only thing on these boards is traces, contacts, and diodes so they are safe to handle...just don't get finger prints on the contacts.

You should also make sure that the white wires are plugged in all the way on the back of these boards. A loose connection will cause the problem you've described. As would missing screws!

Peavey SP 5 speaker has stopped working

Check the crossover network for cracked solder joints, specially pay attention to the female1/4 jacks as they are very tricky since they are switches also, you might be surprised...

Direct out kills speaker signal on my behringer bx1200

If it's still under warranty, get it replaced. Otherwise, take to an authorized behringer repair shop, or your local pro-audio repair shop.

I have the Harbinger HA120 Portable PA System set up in my room. I've had the system for about two years, and naturally have put some loud music through the speakers. However, now, when I send anything...

You need to do some test on the equipment. First check the resistance of each speaker. You may have a bad cable... and yes you can destroy the speakers with too loud a signal... HOWEVER if the system is made to work together this is USUALLY not a problem.

My amp will turn on and even when I have the guitar and amp connected no sound comes from the amp. I don't know what to try to fix it, so I have left it alone, testing it every once in a while (it...

Possibly a loose connection, or bad solder connection. unplug it from power.

If you think you are up to it geta soldering iron and some solder, and a screwdriver, and take the amp part out. be careful of the speaker wires. put some tape on each one and label them so you know where to put them back. after you got it out you might have to take some more screws out to get the board off of the chasis, so you can see under it. this is where all the components are soldered to the board. maybe use a magnifying glass. touch up anything that looks questionable.
do all over. you don't need to know what everything does if you just go all over. careful not to cause any shorts. you might see something that obviously needs to be fixed. you have found a problem. you can't fix something if you don't find a problem. do all over anyway if you think you still have to.

Put it back well enough to test it. then put it all the way back together, or continue to look for a problem, or take it to someone, like me!

Good luck

I have an EDB 600 here and some of the wiring is detached; I would love to find some sort of diagram of the wiring so I know how to put it back together!

Try here for a 2004 EDB600. Newer years don't show up but they are probably pretty similar.

Phonic S715 "15" 2way

This speaker is not an active one. This means that it hasn't integrated amplifier, so you need an external one. The cable from the amplifier goes to the speaker. Remove the woofer in order to get access at the inner parts and check these points:
  • In case that there is a crossover present there must be a burned out coil or capacitance
  • In case the cable from the female jacks at the back panel goes direct to the woofer, there must be the woofer destroyed or the cable disconnected. Check the cables, it's less expensive than to replace the woofer.
Post me back if there is a crossover in use or it is direct connected and any other points of interest you came up, in order to guide you further.
In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

I'm trying to add a Digitech X Series EX-7

You CANNOT use the Voodoo as it outputs DC voltage and the EX-7 requires an AC voltage and of 9 VAC and also 1.3 amps at that.

I'm not familiar with this kind of keyboard, but it is almost certainly that you have 2 parts (2 instruments) layered together. In this case a bass and a cymbal. This is a feature, not a malfunction of every multitimbral keyboard. Multitimbral means you can play more than one instrument at the same time. This is good as you can create some nice fat sounds, but put the wrong instruments together and you'll have the problem you're experiencing. My suggestion is that you read what the manual says about layering or mixing parts. There you should find instructions on how to turn one of the instruments off. You can also try to google the words "how to parts layer (or sound layer, or combine sounds) on the Yamaha S80". Good luck.
