Camera ERROR MESSAGE Blackberry Curve (Sprint)

Your OS maybe corrupted so you will need to reinstall the OS, you can do this by connecting the phone to your pc/laptop using the USb cable then open the Blackberry Desktop Manager and click on the apploader then install the applications and install the OS as well as the features for the phone....

Camera wont work, wants me to close apps and try again

Sounds like you may have a corrupted java system. Try to reload the OS by going to the Blackberry.com website, an downloading the desktop manager 4.7 fairly large, as well as the Blackberry device software. Depending on Carrier it should be the 4.5 version. Install the desktop manager, then install the handset software. Plug the phone in let it detect the settings, and then use the application loader to reload the handset software. It will back up your settings, and applications, and restore them once it's completed.

Take the battery cover off. Take your finger and press on the lens area (below the flash) you should hear a "snap". Don;t over do it though.

BB Curve camera won't funtion

This is the initial sign of the camera coming loose from the socket on the main board.

If it still in warranty then send it out for repair.

If it's out of the warranty then you can put a foam or plastic spacer to under the battery cover.

Just like the battery foam pad under the battery.

Place few tab of supporting material under the battery cover. Make sure they does not cover the lense or the flash.

Next time the camera give you the error message again. Take the battery out and press the camera and flash area firmly until you hear a soft plastic snap sound.
Once the camera contacts snap back in placet then your are back in business.

My phone wont let me use the camera

you need to have the OS reflash on the phone....you can following these steps

When your device fails to start, it show one of these symptoms:

1. Totally dead.

2. Trying to restart, LED activity only.

3. Failed to start, a white screen with an error message.

__________________________________________________ ________

1. Physical damage, water is the worst enemy of delicate electronic device. Try drying it with a desiccant and replacing the battery. If there is no activity, you can still try the last ditch technique, nothing to loose anyway.

2. Your device is not able to start, something has gone wrong and the OS is corrupt.

3. Geeks call this an "Uncaught exception error". That is a polite way of saying, the last thread has terminated, the OS has halted because it is corrupt.

In many cases, the Application Loader can be used from Desktop Manager or Windows,

If that fails to connect, there is one final solution. Go Old Skool ...

The good news, starting from scratch, you will be back in service in a couple of hours. biggrin.gif

2. You need to install a BlackBerry OS file that is specific to your device. The original version, as supplied by the carrier, is the safe choice, but you can use any model specific version.

3. Once the OS has been installed, you have to prepare it for the device.

Select Start / Computer and select the Drive C: Icon.

Open Program Files / Common Files / Research in Motion / AppLoader.

Navigate to the bottom and delete the file Vendor.XML file.

4. You are now ready to restore your device. Verify that BlackBerry Desktop Manager is NOT running. Plug the device directly into the computer's USB port.

Camera not working

My sister's blackberry curve 8310 had the same problem with the camera, it would just show up the "could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again." message.

In my case the camera hardware was working fine, it just needed more pressure towards the motherboard so it would make more contact. I disassembled the blackberry completely. Then i used some extra foam i had from previous housings, like the one that some blackberries have in their battery cover to do a little bit more pressure on the battery or the one thats around the camera, flash and speaker. I took that foam and cut it into very small pieces and put it around the camera base in the motherboard and around the camera hole in the middle frame. Assembled everything and put some extra foam between the battery cover and the middle frame close around the camera so it would apply pressure. This will void your warranty tho, so yep its easier to just make a backup with desktopmanager and get a new one using your warranty.

Camera not working on Sony Ericsson s500i.

"there are other applications still running"

For this problem i worked around by turning on the camera with the phone slider close. When it says slide the cover, do it and it generally works.

Problem with camera on my pearl

I have had this problem for about 8 months. I have tried everything and nothing works. I accidently found out a fix:

It appears the problem of my Pearl was the bad connection of the camera. When I start the camera, if I squeeze the phone body hard around camera area to make a better connection, the camera works right away. This works for me 100%. I hope you have the same luck.
