    buddhammajumd's solution is fine if you can get the installation CD. It's not available on the HP site. Only a patch.

    I need the installation disk, which I have lost. The real issue is that I am running win98 with this printer, and I want to print DOS pages from a program I wrote a long time ago. I don't have the disk so I don't know if the install script allows me to select that I run DOS also. In the process of trying to figure this out by installing an alternative driver, the printer no longer works at all. WIN98 you know! HELP

Go to www.hp.com/downloads and enter your printer information and look for a driver to download. Make sure you get the correct one for your Operting system. And when you download, turn off all running programs including your virus control. Good Luck.
