Question about Pioneer Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have a 2001 stratus sedan and I hooked up an aftermarket. Radio to it and no sound comes out of the speakers. Im not sure if it has the infinity speaker system in it. The aftermarket harness I have, I hooked up all the wires properly besides the power antenna wire on it. So would that make a difference to anything? Any kind od help would be appreciated.

My info shows a light green wire on outside of one plug/harness as "amp trigger" .

Yes, one of the 2 plugs you have. Should be a brown/yellow, right beside it for left rear + speaker.

Can't suggest anything except go to installdr.com and search out your vehicle's wiring info. Couple guys I work with used that site with success on their aftermarket installations.
Good luck,

Sounds like your Gr Caravan has the premium sound package. You likely haven't hurt anything - but you may need to modify the wiring a bit. The speakers have a tweeter speaker in the center of the main speaker and the wiring goes through that. However, it only worked with the premium package. Go in to the speakers and move the wiring connections from the tweeter to the main speaker. Your other option is to replace the speakers.

97 dakota installed radio harness have power no sound

If you still haven't fixed this, look at your wiring harness. The blue wire that comes off your factory harness is the external amp in the Infinity stereo. I found this out when I hooked my Pioneer head unit up. Coming off the aftermarket stereo should be a blue wire that says remote. Hook those up and you should be good to go.

No sound from speakers

did you check to make sure your vehicle didnt come with a factory amp, if it has one is it turning on? or did you remember to disconnect the negative battery cable while installing your radio, i know thats a dumb question, once i was installing a pioneer a barely crossed a couple wires and fried the radio, the radio itself worked fine and all the features etc, but it never did play sound again. i always disconnect the power now!!

Amp

Its a must to change your radio to an aftermarket radio because its safer and it has an rem wire that for the amp and subwoofer, if you run it a factory radio then the sound if any will be the voice and everything so it will sound distorted and crappy with abnormal bass

Am radio not working

THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A RADIO PROBLEM. IT MAY BE WORTH YOUR TIME TO HAVE A DODGE DEALER CHECK THE RADIO TO SEE IF INDEED THE RADIO IS BAD, BUT THEN YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE OEM RADIO WITH A NICE AFTERMARKET RADIO. THESE HAVE COME DOWN IN PRICE DRASTICALLY AND ARE PROBABLY CHEAPER THAN REPLACING THE OEM RADIO. WITH NO SIGNAL OR STATIC ON THE AM BAND SURE SOUNDS LIKE THE AM BAND IS DEAD.
