I am sorry to advise you I have had the exact same issue with a ML330 G3, and it doesnt support USB boot , There are 2 work arounds, 1 is to burn 2003 to a CD as opposed to a DVD and then boot from the standard drive, the other option is to swap out the internal IDE CD Drive to a IDE DVD drive, these are pretty cheap to purchase and easy to fit, the key to fitting is that the ribbon that fits in the back of the drive has a stripe down one side, The side with the Stripe always plugs in nearest to the Power plug that you also plug into the drive.

If this helps, please can you provide positive feedback

This is stated in the User Manual:

Boot Options
After the auto-configuration process completes, or after the server reboots upon exit from RBSU, the POST sequence runs, and then the boot option screen is displayed. This screen is visible for several seconds before the system attempts to boot from a diskette, CD, or hard drive. During this time, the menu on the screen allows you to install an operating system or make changes to the server configuration in RBSU.

USB Support

HP provides both standard USB support and legacy USB support. Standard support is provided by the operating system through the appropriate USB device drivers. HP provides support for USB devices before the operating system loading through legacy USB support, which is enabled by default in the system ROM. HP hardware supports USB version 1.1.

Legacy USB support provides USB functionality in environments where USB support is normally not available. Specifically, HP provides legacy USB functionality at:

Environments which do not support USB natively

Info you need is probably on:

For more information, refer to the HP ROM-Based Setup Utility Guide on the Documentation CD.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

ProLiant ML 110 server series does not supports windows XP. It Support only the below OS.

  2. Windows 2003
  3. NetWare 5.1
  4. NetWare 6.0

Hi guies the windows srever 2003 files in my hp ml370 is corrupt and i tried to fix the prblem by format one hard disk partition in my scasi disks array and installing win srv 2003 on it but whe i log on...

HP SmartStart CD x32
The utility to use to set up the ML370 g3 server is the SSCD (smart start cd) this is a guided installation cd that will help you set up the array, install drivers and diagnostic utilities and after that
will request the windows cd so that you can finish the installation.
1. download SSCD from here
2. extract the zip file
3. burn the ISO image to a cd
4. boot the server to the cd
5. choose from the main menu the option "Deploy server"
6. follow the wizard

I need driver hp proliant to install

If you are installing an OS from scratch, download the Proliant SmartStart CD for your server from HP. You simply boot from this CD and follow the instuctions to load your OS. Smartstart will configure your drives, pre-load drivers, and gracefully pass control over to the OS installer.
