Solution doesnt come out nor does water.

Ensure you have water in tank and solution (or water in solution tank). When you start the vacuum up, the pump starts to prime itself. If you have air in the system, it takes a little longer to prime. Allow the vacuum to run for 1 minute before attempting to pull the trigger. Then pull the trigger.
If this doesn't work, you'll need to open the unit up and check the hoses for any clogs, and next test the pump to see if it is functioning.

Bissell 9200 upright carpet cleaner does not spray water. Could it be the pump or solenoid, or both?

It could be the pump. You can open it up and see if the pump is working by taking the pump input tube and inserting it into a bowl of water. Pull the trigger and see if water is leaving at the pump output.

However, ensure you have the simpler things covered first:

Have a bissell 9400-E and it doesnt spray cleaning fluid from underneath the machine, the hand tool works. have trie purging the machine with hot water in fluid tank and continuously hollding button with...

This may be caused because the pump belt has stretched or broken or the pump is seized and will not turn. Remove the pump belt and turn the pump rotor with your fingers to see it turns freely. If it does then the pump should be OK but the belt may be stretched and will need replacing. If the unit does not spray after changing the belt then clean the spray nozzles at the front of the machine and make sure that water flows to the nozzles OK. You can check this by temporarily disconnecting the nozzles from the plastic pipes.

Main causes for no spray.

Bladder may be empty.
SmartMix Bottle may be empty.
The Filter may be clogged.
Tanks may not be seated properly.
Pump may have lost prime.
The Pump Belt may be broken.

2 front jets are blocked. This is a common problem. When the machine is standing for a while the detergent turns to a gel causing the blockage Lay the Bissell on its side then where the water comes out of the jets at the bottom of the machine unblock them using a pin to poke through the hole in the centre.

Try running hot water through the system with no detergent to empty out all the residual detergent. Keep running hot water through the system by pressing the button you press for it to spray the water do this for about 5 mins and keep swapping the water for hotter water as it starts to cool doing this 4 or 5 times might solve your problem if not get the tools out and start looking for the blockage. Do this once a month to ensure that the pipes and jets are kept clean and free of any detergent gel build up.

The unit sprays for the first few seconds after I turn the unit on and then stops spraying any water or solution. I turn it off, wait a few minutes and the same thing happens. What is going on and how...

This sounds as though the pump belt is slipping. This may be caused because the pump belt has stretched slightly or the pump is seized and will not turn. I have a bissell pro heat water wont come out

The pump may spin but the vanes inside could be broken or worn enough that they are unable to push water through the pump system. I am repairing a Bissell Model 8920 Pro-Heat 2X that has this very same problem.

I tested all the hoses to verify that they were not plugged. I then hooked the water and cleaner tub from the rear directly to the pump and held it above the pump assembly and water barely went through it with gravity feed and the pump was visibly spinning. The pump assembly can be acquired from AE Carters for $10.00.

I do not give any guarantee that this is the only problem.

System will spray soap, but no water is mixed.

I had the same problem. After 3 weeks of seals belts pump etc. I was ready to give up.
The problem with mine as I suspect with others is the seal on the water tank.
The bottom plastic connector is not high enough to allow the water to flow to the pump.
My solution was to raise the bottom connector 3/16 of an inch.
I did this with a piece of plastic cut like a flat washer or auto gasket material could be used.
The connector must be removed from the bottom by pressing on the tabs. Hope this helps.

I have a Saeco Armonia Espresso Machine. The water pump was running when the tank ran out of water and when I refilled the tank, it wouldn't start again. I unpugged it and turned everything off overnight....

Common on Armonia...
There is no water in the system, so the pump is pumping air!!
you have to push on the usual button but make sure the hot water button (for tea for ex) on the right side (same as steam opening valve) of the machine is open. This will allow the water to re-flow through the system. Once water is coming out again, close hose, and stop water button. Once hose is closed, and you repush the water button, it will flow again through the coffee hole.
Voila

No steam

I used the straw to prime the lines and 50/50 mix of vinager and water and it worked perfectly. I then mixed the water container with the same mix and ran it through the system. All works fine now.
