Question about Asko D1976 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

The top basket of my Asko dishwasher slides toward me whenever it's open, as if it's on uneven ground. But it was fine for the last six years; this is a new problem. Do i have a broken part that i can replace?

Hi,
Check that the rollers that the track rolls on are not bent or breaking....that may allow the front of the basket to drop...
Often this happens because inadvertently someone will place their hands on the basket and push down on it while loading it, or even the weight of the dishes break it down over time...

These parts are easy to replace and can be bought online...

How to install kick plate on asko dishwasher d5434xl

there should be 2 little extensions that stick out of the front of the base of the dishwasher. there are also 2 grey plastic locking tabs, one on each extension. you slide the tabs toward the center of the dishwasher, pull the metal extensions in or out to put them at the desired depth, then set the kick plate down on top of them, it has grooves in the back that the metal extensions have to slide into to hold it, as there are no screws. Hope this helps!

Keep the Program button pressed until you see wash programs like Auto or Normal displayed. This should get rid of the Lower basket program.
Manual is available from here

My Asko D1716 dishwasher works fine apart from the soap dispenser. It won't open to release the soap.

Most likely it's a corroded door catch or a bad solenoid. Hopefully it's not the main control board. You'll need a repair manual or technician. A work around would be to use detergent tablets in the compartment

Does anyone know where to buy replacement cutlery basket for Asko D3100?

They are sold by dimensions and you can find them here in the UK:
http://www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?query=Asko%20asko%20cutlery%20basket&f=522778&path=104426&shop=asko

AU
http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/index.php?cPath=69465_69466_81477

Actual part number 8801239-77

another AU site part listed more than 50% down the page using the PN above:

http://www.albury.net.au/~allfix/catalogs/dishwash.htm

Sure does seem a bit pricey on the AU sites....

To me as a 40 year tech a dishwasher cutlery basket is a cutlery basket. Find one that will fit the dimesions of your dishrack alloted cutlery basket space and buy it. The first link is a good start.

Asko dw 95.2 model 1705 after 6 years of use the dishwasher top drawer rolls out. Will not stay inside when main door is open.

Check the level and tightness of the slide rails--they may have come loose after the years of use. Make sure the dishwasher case itself is level. Hope this helps!

Upper rack travel sticks and jams.....

you have a bad bearing retainer. you will need to call an asko parts dealer and order 8 upper rack ball bearings, and two ball bearing guides (they are grey plastic and break over time, causing the rack to jam. To replace tham, you must take the upper rack out by turning the plastic retainers on the front of both rails 90 degrees towards the outside of the machine. The slide the whole basket out. Now look at the back of the rails inside the dishwasher. there shoul be 2 more grey plastic retainers with bumpers on them in the rear. These must be pried out wiht a screwdriver (be careful, have cut myself several times on this job till i figured out the best way to do it. cover the bottom hole in the dishwasher with a rag, as you are likely to drop the old bearings when you slide the rails out. Slide out both the rails. Put your new (or old if youve got all 8) ball bearings into the ball bearing holders, then put the holders into the rail thats attached to the dishwasher. slide the rails back in, andthen put all your retainers back in and your rack. you may have to slide the rack in and out a few times before it will center the bearings and work smoothly. Should cost you about $12 in parts. Good Luck!
