Pump was replaced with new control box, pressure switch, and burns up capacitors after 10 min oper max. Have replaced repeatedly still same problem-no right answer yet Control box that came w/pump keeps tripping reset immediately upon applying power

I'd start with verifying the voltage present matches the voltages the motor and control box are set to receive. Capacitors blow due to being energized too long or having to much current pass thru them. Voltage issues could easily explain all the symptoms you have described.

Normal Operation The brake pressure switch provides an additional speed control deactivation if the brake pedal position (BPP) switch fails. When the brake pedal is pressed, 1700 kPa (246 psi) of brake fluid pressure in the brake master cylinder opens the brake pressure switch, removing B+ voltage to the speed control servo electric clutch.
    Possible Causes
  • circuit 10 (LG) open
  • circuit 307 (BK/YE) open, short to power
  • ABS module
  • brake pressure switch
  • speed control deactivator switch
PINPOINT TEST P: DTC C1440 (ABS ONLY) - PRESSURE TRANSDUCER SIGNAL FAULT CAUTION: Use the flex probe kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

No
REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. P7 CHECK CIRCUIT 307 (BK/YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER

  • Disconnect: Brake Pressure Switch C1025.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage between the ABS module C155-40, circuit 307 (BK/YE), harness side and ground.

I have a utilitech 1/2 hp pump. I runs 5 min., and then stops. If I let is sit for 10 min. and then replug it will run another 5 min. then stop. I have taken off the bottom and cleaned it. What now?


It appears to be over loading and being shut off by the thermal overload switch. This can be from failing bearings, overload as the motor is too small for the job, the rpms are too low for correct operation and the start capacitor is not being taken out of the circuit on starting. ( some small hp motors have a set of contacts at one end that are closed when stationary but on reaching operational speed are opened by a centrifugal bob weight. When closed the start capacitor induces extra voltage to get the motor turning and when running is taken out of the circuit. The points in this system are known to burn together and so keep the capacitor in service which will over heat or burn out the motor. Best have it checked out by an accredited electrical motor re-builder for the cause of the problem.

U might've burned the start capacitor also. If u don't see one on the exterior,check inside the end bell (cap) of your motor. Do u hear the motor hum? If not there a likelyness u burned ur motor

I have a 1990 mitsubishi might max it wont run smooth unless you keep your foot on the gas and keep the rpms up a little bit and it wont drive cause it stalls everytime you try to move it. ive replaced the...


You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.
Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

Troubleshooting the no-start condition - from the 1990 Mitsu Mighty Max Repair Manual:

No we are on a well system and there is no way it could have been frozen. i was trying to turn up the hot water tank. then put the timer on full time pumping and now no water.


OK. Water well.

1) Let's do a punch list for deep well:
Check 20 amp 240volt circuit breaker to well. Click breaker all the way one direction and then back other direction.
Look at pressure gauge on well to see if pressure is zero.
Open pressure switch cover (small grey box about size of baseball) and see if points are stuck.
Points can burn together sometimes.
Turn off power to well, separate points and use fingernail file to clean points.

Also check if pressure switch is getting 240V. Move wires to another same-size circuit breaker to see if breaker is functioning correctly.

If pressure at tank is zero, then solinoid could be bad in control box, or motor could be burned out.
-Buy new control box at hardware store for $60 and replace.
-Call water well company to replace pump.

2) I am not 100% familiar with shallow well operation to give you detailed information.

have you opened the electrical cover? four screws on top. Is there water inside?

Mine has stopped working also and has water in the elect. box. I'm pretty sure from condensation. The water coming into the pump is really cold and the warm motor is causing condensation which finally builds up and shorts out the capacitor. Although my capacitor looks ok, but the little controller on the circuit board is melted. Would like to try and find a new circuit board, don't know where to look as yet.

Drain problem


Could be a pressure switch problem. If the switch doesn't know it's empty, it will keep trying to pump. Remove top and locate switch. There's a small hose going to it. Remove the switch and blow in it see if you hear a "click". Also blow through the hose and you should hear bubbles or clear air into the tub. Put switch back on and try again. If no sucess, repl. pressure switch.

Igniting a Dometic gas fridge
    Electronic Ignition
    1. Open gas cylinder or pressure regulating valve
    2. Turn on Electronic ignitor switch
    3. Turn gas control knob to the MAX position, press and hold down
    4. After ignition, hold down knob for a further 15 seconds before releasing. The neon light will stop flashing
    Piezo Ignition
    1. Open gas cylinder or pressure regulating valve
    2. Turn gas control knob to the MAX position, press and hold down
    3. After approximately 10-15 seconds
      press Piezo knob several times until pilot light a lit
    4. After ignition, hold down knob for a further 15 seconds before releasing
  1. Check the Pilot light is alight
  2. The flame can be controlled by aperture ©
    Should no ignition occur, repeat the ignition process after 1 minute
    (This could take longer than 10 seconds if the unit has been out of operation for a prolonged period or after replacing the gas cylinder. (Cause: air in the lines)
  3. Once sufficient refrigeration has been obtained in the cooling tank at the MAX position, the control knob should be turned to the MIN position by low outside temperatures or when the refrigerator is only lightly loaded respectively the ambient temperature is below +18c in order to avoid over freezing the contents.

Karcher 520M Pressure washer won't operate at high pressure


I had the same problem - good water inlet pressure, no output pressure, even though the lance and handle seemed to be clear and working find.
I found that the electrical switch wasn't being operated correctly by the spill valve and wasn't turning the motor on/off correctly.
Inside the plastic electrical box there is a small white device that presses against the micro switch assembly. Carefully adjust the allen screw perhaps 1/4 turn out or 1/4 turn in to obtain correct operation of the microswitch - you will hear the micro switch clicking in and out when re-assembled. I'm sure they must have a rig to check correct positioning of this screw in the factory!
Hope it helps - mine is working find now and saved me buying another!
