WHY DOES THE MOTOR ON MY SAMSUNG DISHWASHER RUN ALL THE TIME AND THE LIGHT ABOVE HEAVY BLINK?

Yes, you've got a leakage error, which means water has leaked down into the base of the dishwasher. The drain pump runs all the time, trying to get all the water out, but the drain pump can't get to the water down in the base. (Those North Korean engineers/designers aren't too bright.) You'll have to pull the dishwasher out, pull off the side panels, and dry up all the water before that drain pump will stop running. But you still have the problem of figuring out where the leak came from and fixing the problem before you can use the dishwasher. The most common source of leakage in a Samsung DW is the drain pump and/or drain hose.

I have a Bosch SHU3036UC dishwasher. While sitting idle - during the day or over night, it fills up with fresh water. I shut off the water supply last night and this morning it was dry. Any ideas?

DW5700P1 dishwasher must have stopped running last

A lot depends on at what point the dishwasher stopped working.

Have you tried to turn the mains power off and on again and then try one of the short cycles.

I would suggest if water is not draining, then empty with a small pan and check filter for blockages. Also good idea to check there is no blockage on the drain side.

A good site to check is

Runs too long

the water going into the unit needs to be 120 degrees for it to work correctly. the D/W is trying to heat the water up to 120 degrees. it will heat a degree a minute. depending on what the temp is in the washer. try turning on the hot water first before you turn the dishwasher on. verify that the water is 120 degrees coming out from the faucet.

Dishwasher worked fine last night, this morning it is not working

In some supply systems, there is a safety valve ( commonly referred to as a shuttle valve) that has a small ball bearing that blocks the water from flowing if a water line bursts.. This is supposed to be a safety feature to prevent flooding but can be an annoyance if that ball moves and blocks water flow from coming in.
That, or your water inlet valve may be the prime suspects for this problem..
Hope this helps,

Rick

Sounds like your not getting water to it. Turn on and let run for a few minutes then open door and check to see if you have water in it.
If not check to be sure water to it is turned on. Check float in front corner of dishwasher to see if moves freely up and down and that there is nothing underneath it. If these check ok you probably need a water valve.
