If your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers or uninstall
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
make sure you have an earth ******** before touching any parts inside your computer
hope this helps

HELP!! My New Probook 4530s Notebook, Audio & Video Glitches n Hangs Making Annoying

OFFICIALLY ()? fixya is never ever OFFICIAL, only at HP.com is.
  1. sure get it fixed
  2. or learn how your self?
since you are here and not at HP.com my guess.
is you cant get it fixed? (in PC repair shop)

why not just tell what you do exactly and then the bad effects.
what audio are you playing,???
files (like MP3)
windows sounds.
what video's we cant guess this nor the formats (100s)
is it store bought DVD>?
is it a video filie
is it online video streaming like netflix or youtube.
what? we can not know what you are doing unless stated. clearly.

why not do simple things first
like playing MP3 file using windows, media player.
get any MP3, play it,

more simple.?
does the CP control, selected SOUND ) (CP = control panel)
then tab to SOUNDS
then click default beep, and test.?
sound ok? repeat 10 times, ok now.
if not make sure there is only one sound chip in system
not 2, like inside chip inside pc, and one outside say USB headphones. unplug all USB devices, sounds work now.?

look is CP+ DM device manger, for sound chips with errors.

down grading the HP software was a bad move.
sorry. why not use the corrrect drivers off HP.com
why not?
or even reload the OS.
using HP way.

there can be many CAUSES OF failed sounds, buzzzzz
ill not go to video, due to sounds bad , is first.
did you try using ear buds in the speaker phone jack to see if the buds sound ok>? (as opposed to the speakers )

1: not using HP drivers from HP.com
2: virus infected.
3: sound chips bad, (very very rare)
4: kids stuck sharp objects into speakers, wrecking them, try buds yet?
5: windows 7 corrupted, run "SFC scannow"?
6: 2 sound chips trying both both run same time (with head phones uSB)
7: PC is overeloaded, and running so slow it cant run sound correctly by having too many startup fails running, clean them out.

your tech can do this, step by step.... let him?/her?

I recently purchased bose multimedia speakers. I can plug the iPhone into the control and the sound is phenomenal. When I plug the USB into my laptop (HP6535b) the speakers install, but the sound is...

xp was never designed to do that ever. my guess... and is true in vast cases with XP , XP is DEAD, as will be getting new drivers for new devices, see?
When I plug the USB what does that mean.

all i can tell as would HP, take that USB thing above
go the the makers web site, see that software, there,
do they have XP software, NO.
i bet they do not support XP

not only that all said was,.
bose multimedia speakers.

what does that mean>/ its non specific so is useless. input
the only word there good id BOSE(tm)
they make lots of things, most things do not run on any XP
unless real lucky,

my guesss is the BOSE(tm) has its own sound chip
and needs its own SOUND chip driver to work
and if even you had that chip driver,
XP would get real confused having 2 sound chips in one PC
try this , go to DM , device manager,
and turn off the normal sound chip from HP.
on windows 10 we click the task bar speaker and kill the onboard sound chip that way, letting head phones USB work.
or USB external devices that have, 2nd chip.
see? running 2 chips at same time (sound) is never going to work
like having 2 TV's playing same time, chaos.

Hp pavilion dv2046 sound problem

hi,1. first of all please check whether the mute options is checked or unchecked.2. After that go to device manager and check whether audio drivers are there or not. - Try to plug in the headphone and check whether the sound is coming or notIf there is no sound coming out of your speakers, but the headphone jack plays sound, there may be something wrong with your speakers. If this is the case, you can either use headphones or external speakers, or attempt to use the laptop's warranty to get HP to fix the speakers. Plugging and unplugging a headphone from the jack several times has supposedly caused some users' speakers to start playing sound again.
3. If the drivers are not there then go ahead install the drivers from the hp website by using the product of your computer.4. If the problem still exists then try to update the bios of your computer with the l latest version.5. Try to run the recovery of the computer and check after that.

It is possible that the camera only runs on Windows 7. Re-upgrade to Windows 7. It is much better than XP anyway, and your computer is more than powerful enough to handle it.

sounds like you have built in speakers for your laptop?
you can try plugging in headphones in to the headphone jack on your laptop to see if you can hear any sound.
if you do then you can purchase a 2 speaker set from walmart or any electronics store and hook that up to your laptop for sound.

No sound from headphones. Speakers work. Win7

Please clarify, Where is the Headphones connected? Front or back? if you tried it on the Front port without success, Plug in the speaker jack to the port where you did connect the Headphone and verify it's working or not. You can also try the headphone on the port where the speaker is connected.

Awaiting.
