Question about ASUS Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I recorded a 15 minute video and when I played it back the sound worked fine initially, but it cut off after 10 seconds. Otherwise, the video worked. Is there anyway I can retrieve the video's sound?

I edited the video on cyberlink power director and the audio still cut off after 10 seconds. I don't know why the audio track just shut off after working for 10 seconds.

I am sorry but if the audio is completely muted, it won't be possible to retrieve it. But if in case the volume is turned down or lower after 10 seconds or at least you can hear the slightest noise, you can somehow re-edit the audio and turn up the level. If you will edit the video file, you will be able to see the audio in waveform (depending on the video editor you'll be using) in the timeline. Or in case, if you don't have any idea about how to edit video or audio, please let me know the file size so that you may upload it to a Free file sharing website like Rapidshare or Mediafire, I will download it and check it for you if there's possibility.

Thanks and awaiting your response.

Ok, so you don't see any sign of audio after 10 seconds when you open up in the editor or when you play? Do you think there is no audio at all after 10 seconds? If you doubt about it, I would like to check it myself for you. Retrieving sound from a recorded video/audio without audio isn't possible. The same condition is with yours also.

Can you send me the file? What is the file size? Please answer my questions so that I can help you better. You can't send a video or large file through this comment box, that's why I was telling you about Rapidshare and Mediafire. Thanks.

Oh! Ok, I understand, but that's another problem as I have to give only instructions for now. Anyway, convert the video to mp3 or audio and see if it has any visible audio waveform. You can use a Free video to audio Converter (click HERE to download). Also to edit the audio and see if there's any audio after 10 seconds, you can use Free audio editor like Audacity, you can download it from HERE.

(the above freewares aren't very good as compared to other audio editing or multimedia converter, but at least they are best among freewares/openwares)

    Good Luck.

Let me know if you need further help.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

When playing back recorded progs.People's lips are not excaetly sycronised with sound

If it is recorded using the same unit you play on it should work fine.
Otherwise it could be a codec problem, like the video was encoded to divx where the audio and video was different bit rates, or the person that made the recording didn't sync it.
You can clarify a bit more on the source of the recordings ?

I have an Onkyo TX-SR606. With an HDMI connection from any dvd player connected to the HDMI/DVD in on the Onkyo I get perfect pic and sound initially then the picture starts to go bad, usually about 5 - 10...

Hook your HDMI directly ffrom the DVD to the TV, then connect digital coaxial or optical to your receiver for audio. Your receiver will not current HDMI video codecs. That is the only fix. Sorry. Hope this helps.

Playback is too fast using Pinnacle Quick start version 10

This sounds like a Frames per second setting issue.
Just a guess, but you recorded at 15 FPS & the player is regurgitating at 24 (or 30) fps.

Sony 8mm camcorder will record sound but no video

Since it is playing the tape, the play head is ok. Now recording is done by recording heads so you may have a clogged heads or damaged recording heads. Try to clean the heads with head cleaning tape to see if it would help. 1. remove the tape and leave the door open. 2. using a canned air, blow out any dusts in the tape area. 3. run head cleaning tape for about 10 seconds and no more. 4. try the recording.. If this does not resolve, you may have a damaged or heavy clogged video heads. Take it to nearest video technician for a diagnostic. -James

Just bought it but threw the box away because it worked right the first time!

Caution - some manufacturers recommend a specific type of CD for recording, otherwise the unit may not record properly. Was the CD a CD-R? CD-RW? 74 minute? 80 minute? See if there are any specific requirements first.
